About the RoleThe Team Leader, Talent Acquisition is a strategic partner to the business, responsible for delivering workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and talent programs that support GFL Environmental’s operational excellence and growth.This role leads a team of Talent Acquisition professionals supporting high-volume, multi-site hiring while also contributing to enterprise projects and talent programs such as early-career pipelines, process improvements, and technology or system enhancements. The Team Leader acts as a trusted advisor to Operations and HR leaders while ensuring recruitment practices are scalable, cost-effective, and compliant.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Talent Acquisition &amp; Workforce Planning<ul><li>Lead national and regional recruitment strategies aligned with business priorities and workforce plans</li><li>Partner with Operations &amp; HR Business Partners to forecast hiring demand using workforce data, turnover trends, and labor market insights</li><li>Advise leaders on talent availability, market conditions, and hiring risks</li></ul>Relationship Management &amp; Stakeholder Partnership<ul><li>Build strong, consultative relationships with hiring managers and senior leaders</li><li>Set clear expectations around role requirements, timelines, and hiring accountability</li><li>Act as an escalation point for complex or critical hiring challenges</li></ul>Effectiveness, Efficiency &amp; Cost Optimization<ul><li>Drive cost-conscious recruitment models focused on direct sourcing, referrals, and early-career programs</li><li>Reduce reliance on external agencies through improved internal sourcing capability</li><li>Monitor and improve recruitment KPIs including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality-of-hire, and recruiter productivity</li></ul>Projects &amp; Program Support<ul><li>Lead or contribute to Talent Acquisition projects and enterprise initiatives (e.g., process improvements, Workday enhancements, early-career programs)</li><li>Partner cross-functionally to support program planning, change communication, and adoption</li><li>Track project progress, identify risks, and support successful implementation</li></ul>People Leadership &amp; Capability Building<ul><li>Lead, coach, and mentor a team of recruiters, fostering accountability and continuous improvement</li><li>Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of Talent Acquisition team members</li><li>Provide hands-on support for complex searches and stakeholder alignment</li></ul>Governance, Compliance &amp; Process Excellence<ul><li>Ensure recruitment practices comply with employment legislation and human rights requirements</li><li>Promote equitable, inclusive, and bias-aware hiring practices</li><li>Own recruitment process standards and data integrity within Workday</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred</li><li>6+ years of progressive full-cycle recruitment experience</li><li>Previous experience leading, coaching, or mentoring recruitment teams</li><li>Experience supporting operational, multi-site, or high-volume hiring</li><li>Experience supporting TA projects or programs demonstrating impactful results.</li><li>Ability to travel up to 25%</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
