We are backed by strategic investment and product partners such as TDK Ventures and Eclipse Ventures.We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience. About the Role – Engineering TechnicianWe are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to support test, validation, and prototyping activities across our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) development lifecycle. This role exists to bridge hands-on execution and engineering support as we accelerate battery and power electronics systems from concept to production.You will work closely with Test Engineers, Design &amp; Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to execute tests, assemble fixtures, collect and analyze data, and help improve processes across the development lifecycle.This role blends hands-on test execution with engineering support and cross-functional collaboration at a fast-moving, early-stage energy company. The ideal candidate brings solid mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. What You'll Do<ul><li>Execute lab and field tests on components, subsystems, and full battery systems, including electrical, mechanical, and environmental stress tests</li><li>Build and assemble test fixtures, prototypes, harnesses, and instrumentation setups</li><li>Instrument products and systems for data collection; operate test equipment safely and accurately</li><li>Collect, organize, and archive test data and records for engineering review</li><li>Work with engineers to refine test plans, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective actions</li><li>Provide structured feedback on design, assembly, and test processes to improve product quality and yield</li><li>Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, pilot runs, and process documentation</li><li>Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with specifications</li><li>Maintain clear documentation of test setups, procedures, results, and deviations</li><li>Adhere to safety protocols, maintain organized workspaces, and proactively flag hazards</li><li>Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to tooling, workflows, and methods</li><li>Contribute to Lean/5S initiatives and standardization efforts</li></ul> What You'll Bring<ul><li>Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical/Energy Systems, or a similar field</li><li>1–3+ years of hands-on experience in technical testing, lab work, or system validation</li><li>Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; proficiency with hand tools and test equipment</li><li>Experience with test setup, data collection, and basic troubleshooting</li><li>Solid communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams</li><li>Hands-on problem-solver with an eye for detail</li><li>Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving engineering environment</li><li>Analytical mindset with the ability to track trends and communicate insights</li><li>Safety-focused and quality-driven</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with battery systems, energy storage, or power electronics</li><li>CAD Design tool experience</li><li>3D printing experience</li><li>Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python scripts for data logging)</li><li>Understanding of environmental stress or reliability testing methods</li></ul>Peak Energy is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
