Job Summary: We currently have an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a General Laborer/Fabricator. As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for producing/preparing products for customers based on orders that have been received. The successful candidate will focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement. Principal Accountabilities:<ul><li>Cutting plastic piping materials on various saws in the fabrication shop</li><li>Drilling and grinding plastic materials</li><li>Fill out production sheets</li><li>Apply PVC primer and adhesive to assemble fabricated fittings.</li><li>Proficiently setup and operate the following pieces of equipment: ring saw, band saws, jigsaw, stationary routers, hand held routers, glycol tanks, hydraulic presses, pulling machines, angle grinders, die grinders, large facing grinder, drill press, hand drills and basic hand tools.</li><li>Proficiently fabricate the following fittings: tees, reducing tees, single and double reduction reducers, couplings, elbows and various custom fittings.</li><li>Identify hydraulic forming mandrels and hydraulic press set-ups</li><li>Measure angles using a digital or mechanical angle finder</li><li>Expanding and pulling socket joints on plastic material using various heat forms (i.e. glycol tanks and dry heat)</li><li>Visually inspect, measure, and approve materials before and after process steps to ensure quality compliance.</li><li>Responsibly use and care for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Install bevels on pipe ends using bevel table.</li><li>Assigned duties as deemed vital by management.</li><li>Skills, attendance, personal goals as well as ability are supervised closely</li></ul>Working Hours <ul><li>The work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM</li></ul>Pay &amp; Benefits<ul><li>The pay starts at $22.27/hour </li><li>Medical benefits including health, dental and vision</li><li>Accrued vacation time</li><li>Short- and long-term disability</li><li>Accrued vacation time</li><li>401k retirement plan</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Basic math skills, including geometry, fractions, angles</li><li>Read and understand imperial measurements</li><li>Knowledge of Health and Safety practices</li><li>Comprehend production work orders and travelers</li><li>Read sketches and simple drafted drawings</li><li>Mechanical Experience a big plus</li><li>Ability to perform physical labor of up to 50 lbs. in weight which may include lifting, pushing or pulling.</li><li>Perform housekeeping chores such as sweeping &amp; picking up material at floor level which may involve kneeling, stooping, bending and/or squatting</li><li>Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time.</li><li>Good understanding of safety measures.</li></ul>IPEX is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that considers the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
