This post sits within the Latin America Regions &amp; Mayoral Engagement department, which is responsible for managing the delivery of climate action for the 13 C40 cities in the region. Team DescriptionThis post sits within the Latin American team of the Regions &amp; Mayoral Engagement department. This team is responsible for managing the delivery of climate action for the 13 C40 cities in the region. The team is led by the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director, along with the Director of Implementation, who are ultimately responsible for the implementation of cities’ Climate Action Plans, C40’s Regional Business Plan, Leadership Standards and High Impact Actions, and the objectives agreed with government, philanthropic and commercial donors. The team delivers the Laneshift Initiative in Brazil, focused on accelerating the transition to zero emission freight transportation in the cities of Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The initiative works across three main workstreams: policy development, competitive finance solutions, and charging infrastructure deployment. A key component of the initiative is the e-Dutra green corridor, Brazil's first zero emission freight corridor connecting São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, developed in partnership with Smart Freight Centre, Calstart, WRI, ICCT, and WBCSD. Through tailored city-level interventions, regional workshops, and multi-stakeholder engagement, the initiative aims to put Brazilian cities on track for accelerated zero emission freight adoption, ensuring the transition is fair, inclusive, and aligned with national decarbonization goals. The position will be part of a team managing and coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the Laneshift Initiative and other zero emission freight efforts in Brazil. They will work closely with the rest of the regional team in Latin America and other C40 colleagues working on transport, finance, air quality, business engagement, inclusive climate action, and related areas to provide input, insights, and support on the adoption of inclusive, fair, and just approaches to climate action planning and implementation, with particular focus on the role of sustainable transportation in achieving broader climate goals. C40 aims to provide cities with the adequate tailored resources they need so the implementation of climate actions have a transformative impact in urban systems, governance, and socio-economic structure. Position Description:The postholder will be a key member of the Zero Emission Vehicles team at C40 and will support the Latin American Regional team on the Laneshift Initiative implementation in Brazil. The postholder will work with the Director of Implementation, among other team members from the Zero Emission Vehicles Programmes, to support Laneshift project delivery by:<ul><li>Managing the day-to-day execution of the project's workplan across policy, competitive finance, and charging infrastructure workstreams in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo the e-Dutra green corridor;</li><li>Coordinating with partner organizations (Smart Freight Centre, Calstart, WRI, ICCT, WBCSD) and ensuring effective collaboration;</li><li>Managing consultancies and technical service providers, including defining scopes of work and monitoring deliverables;</li><li>Monitoring project KPIs and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for internal teams, the project founder, and external stakeholders;</li><li>Leading business engagement efforts and facilitating collaboration between public and private stakeholders, including fleet operators, commercial vehicle manufacturers, charging point operators, financial institutions, and government entities;</li><li>Ensuring strategic alignment with the founder's expectations and C40's global and regional directives.</li></ul> Responsibilities:<ul><li>Project Management and Implementation: Manage the day-to-day execution of the Laneshift Initiative workplan in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and the e-Dutra green corridor, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget, in coordination with the Head of Laneshift Brazil and C40 colleagues. Coordinate with partner organizations (Smart Freight Centre, Calstart, WRI, ICCT, WBCSD) to ensure aligned implementation and effective collaboration.</li><li>Consultancy and Service Provider Management: Manage consultancies and technical service providers, including defining scopes of work, monitoring deliverables, and ensuring quality outputs. Develop and maintain project timelines, risk registers, and budget tracking systems.</li><li>Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and track project KPIs, preparing regular progress reports and presentations for internal teams, the project founder, and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting systems, including organization of data sources and analysis for donor reporting and internal evaluation. Support the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress toward the initiative's objectives and document outcomes.</li><li>Communications and Materials Development: Prepare briefing materials and communication materials for various audiences, including mayors, city officials, and business leaders, and collaborate with C40's communications team to showcase project achievements and impact.</li><li>Business Engagement &amp; Public-Private Coordination: Support business engagement efforts with fleet operators, logistics companies, vehicle manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers, and other private sector stakeholders. Facilitate public-private partnerships and dialogues to advance zero emission freight adoption.</li><li>Government Coordination: Coordinate with local&nbsp; governments in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to ensure alignment between project activities and city priorities. Support the development and execution of stakeholder engagement strategies, including workshops, roundtables, and technical working groups.</li><li>Stakeholder Relationship Management: Identify and cultivate relationships with new potential partners and stakeholders to expand the initiative's impact. Serve as the primary point of contact for project coordination between cities, partners, and C40 global and regional teams.</li><li>Strategic Alignment and Coordination: Ensure consistent communication and alignment with the project founder regarding priorities, progress, and strategic direction. Ensure strategic alignment between local implementation, regional priorities, and global C40 directives. Participate in relevant C40 global and regional meetings, contributing insights from the Brazil implementation.</li><li>Scaling and Replication: Support the identification of opportunities for scaling and replicating successful approaches in other Latin American cities.</li><li>Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as required to support the team and organisation, demonstrating flexibility and proactive problem-solving.</li></ul> Person Specification:The ideal candidate is a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable professional with strong project management, business engagement, and stakeholder coordination skills. They have demonstrated experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects in urban mobility and sustainable transportation in Brazil and/or Latin America.&nbsp; The postholder will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking ability, and the capacity to build collaborative relationships across public and private sectors while managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. They are fluent in Portuguese and English, with Spanish proficiency highly desirable. With a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field and minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, they are comfortable working remotely across multiple locations and time zones.
