They consult with customers to understand their needs, introduce products, design custom systems, and close deals. By setting clear expectations and ensuring a seamless handoff to the Project Manager, they play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and creating satisfied, informed customers. Other responsibilities include though are not limited to:</p><p><strong>Big Things:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage the Entire Sales Pipeline: Own the customer journey from initial contact to signed contract, ensuring a smooth handoff to the Project Manager.</li><li>Develop the market: Actively participate in community and industry events to connect with homeowners, identify new opportunities, and stay attuned to evolving market needs.</li><li>Lead Personalized Consultations: Meet with homeowners, in their homes as required, to build trust, assess heating and cooling needs, uncover challenges, and address both current &amp; future comfort, efficiency, and electrification goals.</li><li>Design and Sell Systems: Create personalized electrification plans, introduce products and financing options, and close deals with homeowners.</li><li>Set Clear Expectations: Educate customers about project timelines, the installation process, and expected outcomes to build trust and, win confidence, and generate referrals.</li><li>Hit Sales Targets: Use effective sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals.</li><li>Actively perpetuate an inclusive, equitable, collaborative working environment in which psychological safety comes first.</li></ul><p><strong>Little Things:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide Feedback: Share insights from customer interactions with internal teams to improve sales materials, scoping practices, and product offerings.</li><li>Refine the Sales Playbook: Help develop and implement best practices for consultations and system design to improve the efficiency and quality of the sales process.</li><li>Ensure CRM Hygiene: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and pipeline status to ensure transparency and alignment across teams.</li><li>Stay Current on Products: Continuously learn about new electrification technologies and rebate and incentive options to offer homeowners the best solutions.</li></ul><p><strong>What you won’t be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Cold emailing prospects pitching products and services they aren’t interested in.</li><li>Working exclusively from a desk in a tele/digi-sales environment. Expect community engagement and face-to-face interactions.</li><li>Marketing strategy, campaign management, and lead generation.</li><li>Supervising installation teams or managing post-sale project delivery. </li><li>Supply chain management, sourcing equipment, or negotiating with vendors.</li></ul><p><strong>Timeline for role expectations:</strong></p><ol><li>Within one month, you will:</li></ol><ul><li>Understand both heat pumps and building science, as well as the Elephant Energy sales process and our customers journey.</li><li>Begin to lead initial sales conversations with homeowners.</li></ul><li>Within three months, you will:</li><ul><li>Design projects and present proposals to homeowners, with oversight.</li><li>Close your first deal.</li></ul><li>Within six months, you will independently manage a pipeline of homeowners, design projects with minimal oversight, and deliver presentations autonomously.</li><li>At one year, you will be pitching, designing and closing projects on your own, and supporting the growth and success of other members of the sales team.</li><p><strong>Success in this role looks like/can be measured as: </strong></p><ul><li>Meeting / exceeding gross margin and revenue goals.</li><li>Cultivating customer relationships that lead to five star Google Reviews, NPS promoters, and raving fans. </li><li>Contributing to our knowledge base and improving our processes.</li><li>Advancing the adoption of heat pumps!</li></ul><h3>You're a great fit for this role if you have:</h3><ul><li>Experience in customer-facing sales or consultative roles, ideally in industries like smart home technology, HVAC, energy, or home services.
