The RoleEcocem is shaping the future of low-carbon cement with ambitions to deliver a 50% cut in CO2 emissions from cement by 2030. We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join Ecocem Ireland and play a pivotal role in creating market demand for low-carbon cement and concrete solutions. This role is focused on influencing the wider construction ecosystem, including Government, semi-state bodies, architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and industry organisation, to ensure low-carbon materials are specified early in project design. As Ecocem sells through concrete producers, success in this role is defined by creating pull-through demand that flows back to our customers, strengthening their competitiveness while accelerating the transition to low-carbon construction in Ireland. This is a strategic, externally facing role that complements sales activity by shaping policy, standards, and specifications that drive long-term, predictable demand. The position is based in Ireland and reports to the Managing Director. Relocation to Ireland is required for this role Role Responsibilities Market Influence &amp; Specification Growth <ul><li>Increase specification of Ecocem low-carbon solutions across major Irish projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Deliver CPDs and technical sessions to architects, engineers, designers and consultants — always positioning our concrete producers as the delivery route. </li></ul><ul><li>Build strong relationships with Government, semi-state bodies and industry organisations to embed low-carbon materials into standards, procurement rules and policy. </li></ul><ul><li>Strengthen Ecocem’s voice in key industry and trade groups. </li></ul> Strategic Business Development (Through Customers) <ul><li>Identify opportunities with developers, FDI clients, major contractors and project influencers. </li></ul><ul><li>Build and track a pipeline of projects where Ecocem solutions can be specified. </li></ul><ul><li>Support customers by showing how Ecocem products help them compete in low-carbon tenders. </li></ul><ul><li>Create partnerships for trials, pilots and demonstration projects involving both Ecocem and our customers. </li></ul> Policy, Funding &amp; Market Frameworks <ul><li>Monitor legislation, standards and policy changes; summarise risks and opportunities for the business. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and secure funding for research, innovation and demonstration projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Work closely with Group Sustainability &amp; Public Affairs to align Ireland with Ecocem’s wider decarbonisation and market-transformation strategy. </li></ul> Support for New Technologies <ul><li>Bring market and customer insight into the development of future technologies. </li></ul><ul><li>Support rollout of ACT and other innovations through partnerships, demos and stakeholder engagement. </li></ul><ul><li>Help position Ecocem as a long-term solutions partner, not just a materials supplier. </li></ul>External Representation <ul><li>Represent Ecocem at conferences, industry events, and policy forums as a credible voice on low-carbon construction. </li></ul><ul><li>Deliver a consistent message: Ecocem enables its customers to deliver the lowest-carbon concrete in the market. </li></ul>RequirementsRequired Experience &amp; Qualifications <ul><li>Proven experience in senior business development, market development, or strategic roles, ideally within construction, infrastructure, materials, energy, or other regulated and technical industries. </li><li>Strong understanding of how demand is created through policy, standards, and specifications rather than solely through traditional sales activity. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to influence architects, engineers, specifiers, regulations, and industry bodies to drive adoption of new solutions. </li><li>Experience working with public authorities, policymakers, or industry associations, with the ability to translate regulatory change into commercial opportunity. </li><li>Solid technical understanding of construction materials and sustainability topics, such as embodied carbon, lifecycle assessment, and low-carbon materials. </li><li>Comfortable working independently while maintaining close alignment with Sales, Technical Managers, and Group functions including Public Affairs and Sustainability. </li></ul>Personal Attributes <ul><li>Strategic mindset with patience for long sales and influence cycles, combined with a clear focus on long-term commercial impact. </li><li>Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, including confidence representing the company externally at senior level. </li><li>Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams. </li><li>Credibility with both technical and non-technical audiences. </li><li>Motivated by sustainability, innovation, and the transformation of the construction sector. </li></ul>BenefitsWhat we offer<ul><li>Culture built on our company values of Cohesion, Innovation, Tenacity and Empowerment</li><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and pension</li><li>Generous holiday allowance</li><li>Life Assurance</li><li>Friendly &amp; welcoming multicultural team environment</li><li>Learning &amp; Development opportunities</li><li>A career with a global company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work</li></ul>
