<h2>Overview</h2>We are designing the grid of the future!   EPE is looking to recruit a Director of Interconnection Services covering the ERCOT region. In this role you’ll leverage a blend of commercial acumen and technical insights to guide our clients through one of the most dynamic and complex regions for resource interconnection in North America. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on solving hard problems, building trusted relationships and driving outsized impact for both our clients and the industry.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2>  How you can make an impact: Leadership &amp; Team Development  <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and empower a diverse team of engineers and managers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and innovation. </li> <li>Demonstrate extreme ownership by taking responsibility for outcomes, decisions, and overall team success. </li> <li>Enhance internal capability by coaching staff on both technical and client-facing skills. </li> <li>Enhance delivery frameworks, QA/QC processes, and drive cross collaboration to ensure the team scales effectively.  </li></ul> Client &amp; Market Impact  <ul> <li>Serve as a trusted advisor to generation and large developers helping them navigate ERCOT’s evolving interconnection landscape. </li> <li>Translate complex technical issues into clear and actionable insights that accelerate client decision-making and support project success. </li> <li>Leverage strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to gather necessary input and make informed recommendations even in situations where there is inherent ambiguity.  </li> <li>Lead reviews of interconnection studies and identify creative pathways to remove roadblocks and expedite projects. </li></ul> Commercial &amp; Strategic Growth <ul> <li>Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute EPE’s growth strategy across ERCOT and beyond. </li> <li>Identify and pursue new service lines and products. </li> <li>Lead proposal and RFP development efforts.  </li> <li>Contribute thought leadership through conferences, technical papers, and industry forums. </li> <li>Drive the development of internal tools and analytics that strengthen EPE’s position in the market. </li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>Minimum 8 years of experience in the electric energy industry with at least 2 years of prior experience in a leadership role. </li> <li>Proven ability to connect the dots between technical depth and commercial strategy. </li> <li>Exceptional communicator who can influence, create alignment and make decisions confidently under uncertainty. </li> <li>Strong understanding of ERCOT and TSP interconnection requirements and standards.  </li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams. </li> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. </li> <li>Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration across functions and geographies. </li></ul> Beneficial Experience  <ul> <li>Direct experience working at a Utility in the ERCOT footprint or on behalf of these entities as a consultant.  </li> <li>Experience in IBR modelling and/or load modelling. </li> <li>Working knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, TARA PSCAD, PSLF, or PowerWorld)</li></ul> Join us in leading the change!  Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe, providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
