The System Protection &amp; Control Technician must be able to work in various working environments from generation plants, transmission switch yards and control houses, and distribution substations. This position must maintain a high level of awareness for hazard recognition and maintain safe work practices. Will be required to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot complex control systems, protective relay systems (microprocessor and electro-mechanical); substation and electric utility protection systems; station automation and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. This position is responsible for correctly reading and properly interpreting substation drawings (e.g., single line drawings, AC and DC schematics, panel wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings). Perform switching and tagging to obtain proper clearance on equipment for repair, maintenance, or construction work per procedure.</p><p></p><p>Position has call-out responsibilities and must be available to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions. Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations.
