This role will be responsible for managing a high-performing team that will be fully responsible for ensuring the correct US GAAP accounting treatment for prepaid expenses and accruals.  This role will support the business for forecasts, budgets and analysis relating to prepaid expenses and accruals. They will also be responsible for ensuring that we maximize the potential from our existing underlying systems (Oracle and BlackLine) and consistently evolve to embrace new technology. In addition, the role will be responsible for ensuring all processes are in adherence to AECOM policies and procedures and compliant with relevant SOX narratives and controls.This role will report into the ‘Manager, Prepayments &amp; Accruals - GBS’.Responsibilities &amp; Duties Prepaid and accruals category management, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting<ul><li>Ensure close process, month end review and flux analysis is completed accurately and on a timely basis.</li><li>Supervise the monthly reconciliation process to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.</li><li>Ensure the accuracy and completeness of prepayments and accruals (non-judgemental).</li><li>Maintenance of detailed prepayments and accruals schedules to identify aged items and potential exposure.</li><li>Apply appropriate thresholds for balances to be classified as prepaid.</li><li>Support Finance and Operations providing accurate and timely reports and ad-hoc analysis to aid in decision making.</li><li>Preparation of prepaid expense and accruals disclosures for 10K/10Q.</li><li>Preparation of statutory accounts disclosures for multiple legal entities.</li></ul>Auditing and Compliance Monitoring<ul><li>Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with relevant local regulatory requirements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with prepayment and accruals related SOX narratives and control documentation.</li><li>Participate in self-testing program to proactively identify and remediate control gaps before audits.</li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Identify and implement changes that generate efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.</li><li>Partner with Source to Pay (S2P) to drive operational efficiencies and process improvement.</li><li>Ensure existing systems (Oracle, BlackLine) are optimized and identify new technology opportunities.</li><li>Deliver on internal KPI’s and customer focused SLA’s to deliver a best in class general accounting service.</li></ul>People Leadership and Development<ul><li>Develop and lead a highly performing prepayments and accruals team</li><li>Set performance objectives aligned to GBS goals.</li><li>Maintain a structure that aligns with team responsibilities and ensures appropriate succession planning.</li><li>Foster a strong reporting and compliance culture through coaching, recognition, and development.</li></ul><ul></ul>Attributes: <ul><li>Ability to obtain information and identify key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-term goal or vision (Strategic Decision Making)</li><li>Ability to understand various business scenarios and make sound decisions by combining relevant factors to arrive at the best outcome (Business Acumen)</li><li>Ability to drive to create experiences and opportunities that will lead to innovation.
