<div>Ballard has an immediate opportunity for an <b>Electrical Technologist, Qualified Electrician</b> to join its Product Development Team in Burnaby, BC.  The successful candidate will apply their strong technical skills to the develop fuel cell and fuel cell component testing equipment for Ballard’s state-of-the-art test lab.  Working closely with a team of technicians, technologists and engineers in our fast-paced environment, the candidate will advance and maintain Ballard’s broad line of fuel cell testing equipment.  Applications supported will include motive power applications for materials handling, power modules for zero emissions transit Buses, Marine, Trains, and engineering services for clients. The successful candidate will work well with senior engineering staff, is capable of independent work and will contribute to the development of Ballard’s fuel cell system products.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div><b>Responsibilities:</b></div><ul>	<li>Troubleshooting, failure analysis and repair of electrical components and systems</li>	<li>Building electrical systems, such as electrical control panels, instrumentation and control wiring and wire harnesses</li>	<li>Assisting in the verification of electrical systems</li>	<li>Assisting in preparation of technical documents, including Preventative Maintenance, design specifications, and component/system design requirements</li>	<li>Selecting and sourcing electrical components</li>	<li>On call maintenance support for 10-11 weeks a year</li></ul><div> </div><div><b>Desired qualifications, skills, and experience:</b></div><div> </div><ul>	<li>Must have 5 to 6 years experience working as a <b>Qualified Electrician with Red Seal</b>, or qualified <b>Industrial Electrician with Red Seal</b>.</li>	<li>Must have at least 3 - 4 years’ experience Process Control Electronics, Distributed I/O, Ethernet, DeviceNet, Beckhoff experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems.</li>	<li>Must have excellent computer skills - Office 365, Beckhoff KS2000</li>	<li>Have Experience in VFD, Flow meters, Pressure transmitters, Thermocouples and Regenerative load banks.</li>	<li>Experience analyzing analog &amp; digital circuits.</li>	<li>Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and their characteristics, applications, and limitations</li>	<li>Ability to read Process &amp; Instrumentation Diagrams</li>	<li>Troubleshooting skills with DMM</li>	<li>Strong electrical prototyping skills with tools such as: wire strippers, wire and lug crimpers, connector insertion and extraction tools and soldering systems</li>	<li>Good mechanical prototyping skills with tools such as: drills, grinders, saws, and wrenches</li>	<li>Configuring/programming electrical devices such as variable speed motor drivers and distributed I/O systems.</li>	<li>Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and/or National Electrical Code</li>	<li>Excellent time management and organizational skills</li>	<li>Strong interpersonal skills</li>	<li>Strong oral and written communication and good listening skills</li>	<li>Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.</li></ul><div> </div><div><b>Additional Consideration:</b></div><ul>	<li>Experience designing, drawing, and analyzing low voltage electrical circuits.</li>	<li>Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software, redlining and updating documentation.</li></ul><div><div>The typical hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $93,840.
