We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location. Scope of Job: Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the company SCADA system used for electric grid monitoring, protection and control.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Responsibilities:<ul> <li>Act as an expert in the work group; train and mentor SCADA specialists and engineers.</li> <li>Develop complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.</li> <li>Design SCADA portion of substation projects including modifications to RTU configurations and point list implementation in the Monarch EMS/SCADA system.</li> <li>Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support company objectives, utilizing engineering methods.</li> <li>Work with dispatch systems support to ensure the remote data requirements are incorporated into the EDFps Monarch EMS/SCADA system.</li> <li>Determine methods and techniques for obtaining results.</li> <li>Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.</li> <li>Deliver on commitments and manage outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work.</li> <li>Maintain project timeliness and budgets.</li> <li>Analyze and design engineering methods.</li> <li>Available to participate in an on-call rotation schedule and provide SCADA Support outside of business hours.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Supervision of Others: NoneWorking Conditions: 85% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 15% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings. <h2>Qualifications</h2>Education/Experience:<ul> <li>Requires bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience in engineering related field.</li> <li>Expert level knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for the purpose of configuring and engineering SCADA systems used for electric grid monitoring, protection and control.</li> <li>Expert knowledge and application of principles in area of SCADA engineering.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.</li> <li>Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.</li> <li>Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.</li> <li>Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.</li></ul>Preferences:<ul> <li>Engineering experience specific to industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.</li> <li>Experience with DAQ (Data Acquisition), RTU (Remote Terminal Unit), IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) and PLC technologies.</li> <li>Experience with DNP 3.</li> <li>Experience with IEC-61850.</li> <li>Experience with Linux.</li> <li>Experience with Python.</li></ul>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:<ul> <li>Working knowledge of OSI Monarch energy management system.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Modbus and Ethernet.</li> <li>Fundamental understanding of fiber transport and microwave/wireless system technologies.</li> <li>Understanding of Company's business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.</li> <li>Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations and the National Electric Codes.</li></ul>
