As we prepare for a potential Series A, we are seeking a Growth &amp; Commercial Director to lead our next phase of expansion.Position Overview:Singularity Energy is seeking a Growth &amp; Commercial Director to lead enterprise business development and go-to-market strategy as we scale commercial adoption across the U.S. utility market. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will shape how Singularity is positioned, sold, and adopted by utilities, grid operators, and strategic partners.This is a hands-on leadership role, initially operating as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a growth team over time. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic judgment, comfort engaging senior utility stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex technical offerings into compelling commercial value.This role sits at the intersection of enterprise BD, GTM strategy, marketing, and thought leadership, and will play a central role in establishing Singularity Energy as a category leader in clean energy management. Key Responsibilities:Growth &amp; Go-to-Market Strategy<ul><li>Develop and execute Singularity’s growth and go-to-market strategy in alignment with company objectives, product roadmap, and market dynamics.</li><li>Define target customer segments, ICPs, positioning, and messaging to support scalable commercial adoption.</li><li>Partner closely with Product and Leadership to ensure commercial strategy informs product direction.</li></ul>Enterprise Business Development &amp; Sales Execution<ul><li>Lead enterprise business development efforts focused on utilities, grid operators, and strategic partners.</li><li>Identify target accounts and senior stakeholders; develop and advance opportunities through relationship-driven, value-based selling.</li><li>Support deal structuring, contracting strategy, and long-cycle enterprise sales processes.</li><li>Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting, and reporting through CRM tools. </li></ul>Marketing, Positioning &amp; Thought Leadership<ul><li>Own external positioning and narrative, ensuring Singularity’s value proposition is clearly communicated to customers, partners, and investors.</li><li>Lead marketing initiatives across channels including content, events, partnerships, social media, and targeted campaigns.</li><li>Represent Singularity Energy at industry conferences, customer meetings, and public forums to build credibility and brand leadership. </li></ul>Market Intelligence &amp; Insights<ul><li>Stay current on market trends, regulatory developments, reporting standards, and policy frameworks related to grid decarbonization and Scope 2 emissions.</li><li>Translate market insights into commercial strategy and product feedback.</li></ul>Team Building &amp; Leadership<ul><li>Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing growth team as the company scales.</li><li>Establish processes, tooling, and operating cadence to support sustainable growth.</li></ul>Ideal Candidate Qualifications:Experience &amp; Background<ul><li>7+ years of experience in growth, go-to-market, enterprise BD, sales, strategy, or product-adjacent roles.</li><li>Experience in the energy, utility, climate, or infrastructure sectors strongly preferred.</li><li>Startup or scale-up experience, particularly in early commercial or Series A-stage companies, is a plus.</li></ul>Domain &amp; Market Knowledge<ul><li>Familiarity with utilities, grid operations, or decarbonization initiatives.</li><li>Exposure to carbon accounting, Scope 2 reporting, 24/7 CFE, emissionality, or related frameworks is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience working with regulated customers or complex enterprise buying processes.</li></ul>Commercial &amp; Execution Skills<ul><li>Strong ability to engage senior stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.</li><li>Experience managing enterprise sales pipelines, marketing initiatives, and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot).</li><li>Data-driven mindset with comfort using metrics to guide decisions. </li></ul>Candidate Characteristics:<ul><li>Fast learner: Comfortable mastering complex technical, regulatory, and market concepts.</li><li>Strong communicator: Clear, proactive, and credible with both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Mission-driven: Passionate about climate impact and grid decarbonization.</li><li>Collaborative: Thrives in cross-functional, early-stage environments.</li><li>Flexible: Willing to travel for customer meetings and industry events as needed.</li></ul>Location: Preference for candidates based in or near Boston; remote-friendly for the right candidate.What you can expect from us:<ul><li>Mission-driven culture: Work alongside a collaborative, high-caliber team tackling critical climate challenges.</li><li>Competitive compensation: Cash and equity package commensurate with experience.</li><li>Flexible work environment: Hybrid or remote options, with a home base at Greentown Labs in Somerville, MA.</li><li>Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental coverage, 401(k) matching, unlimited vacation, and flexible work hours.</li><li>Team connection: Quarterly in-person team gatherings at headquarters or customer sites.</li></ul>Compensation: Competitive packages include base salary ($120K-$170K), performance bonuses, and equity (0.05%-0.4%), based on experience.
