As one of the first technicians dedicated to servicing our all-electric travel trailer, the AE.1, you'll diagnose and repair electric powertrains, HV and LV power distribution systems, and traditional RV components. You'll also help develop service procedures and technical documentation for our growing team. This role will require up to 25-50% travel to service vehicles in the field or at customer sites.</span></div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on electric powertrains, battery systems, and related high and low voltage  electrical components on Lightship RVs both in the workshop and out in the field at customer locations.</li><li>Manage on-location service parts inventory</li><li>Travel when required to support customer vehicles</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RV living systems including HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and interior/exterior components</li><li>Document all service work thoroughly, maintain detailed repair records, and provide clear communication to customers about vehicle status and needed repairs</li><li>Collaborate with engineering and product teams to identify recurring issues, suggest design improvements, and contribute to the development of service procedures and technical documentation</li></ul><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li>2+ years of experience as an automotive, RV, or heavy equipment technician with hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills</li><li>Working knowledge of electrical systems, including ability to read wiring diagrams, use multimeters, and diagnose electrical faults safely</li><li>Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to safely operate large vehicles - towing experience a plus!</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal supervision</li><li>Demonstrated experience providing an exceptional level of communication and care to customers</li><li>Must provide basic hand and power tools to perform standard automotive repairs</li><li>Specialty/diagnostic tools and personal protective equipment will be provided by Lightship</li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience working with electric vehicles, hybrid systems, high-voltage battery systems, or electric powertrains (automotive, marine, or industrial)</li><li>ASE certifications, RV technician certifications, or electrical/electronics training or certification</li><li>Previous experience in a startup environment or working with pre-production or early-stage vehicles</li><li>Demonstrated experience creating processes and documentation</li><li>Familiarity with diagnostic software tools, CAN bus systems, and modern vehicle computer systems</li></ul><h3>Equity</h3><ul><li>Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.</li></ul><br><div><b style="font-size:11pt;">Employee Benefits &amp; Philosophy - Applies to Full Time Employees only</b></div><div>- Healthcare, Dental, Vision</div><div>- 401k </div><div>- Flexible Paid Time Off - that we actually want you to use!</div><div>- 8 Company Holidays + the company observes a period of scheduled downtime during the end of the year for a week, allowing all employees to enjoy a break</div><div>- 12 weeks paid parental leave</div><div>- $2,000 per year towards an RV trip of your own &amp;/or professional development opportunities - we call this a LightTrip</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Lightship offers all of its full time employees and their dependents full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance and covers 100% of the insurance premium.
