For more information, visit <a href="http://www.ascendanalytics.com/">www.ascendanalytics.com</a>.   Job Responsibilities  <ul><li>Provide modeling and analysis for Ascend’s clients including utilities, developers, IPPs, large energy consumers, and government agencies.  </li></ul><ul><li>Troubleshoot and validate model outputs </li></ul><ul><li>Perform quantitative analysis combining technical considerations, economic factors, market rules, and regulatory/policy developments </li></ul><ul><li>Provide expertise to clients in analytic modeling in areas like risk management, asset valuation, and resource planning by communicating results and modeling approaches effectively </li></ul><ul><li>Synthesize complex information into understandable reports, visualizations, and presentations </li></ul><ul><li>Take ownership of projects, ensuring timely completion </li></ul><ul><li>Leverage analytical tools using Excel, Python, or R for analysis  </li></ul><ul><li>Work independently and collaboratively as needed to achieve objectives.  </li></ul> Required Qualifications  <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as economics or engineering with evidence of strong academic performance, master’s or other advanced degree in a highly quantitative field is preferred  </li></ul><ul><li>2+ years of prior work experience (5+ years of prior work experience for a Senior Analyst) in energy with a utility, consulting firm, government, or non-profit with a focus on energy.  </li></ul><ul><li>Wholesale energy market experience (ideally with a utility, energy project developer, or IPP) is highly preferred. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong quantitative analytical skills, including the use of Excel and existing knowledge or the ability to learn the basics of coding in software packages such as SAS, Python or R.  </li></ul><ul><li>Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic.  </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimum supervision.   </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  </li></ul> Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 – Energy Analyst; $95,000 - $125,000 – Senior Analyst                    Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
