We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location. Scope of Job: The Benefit Specialist - Workers Compensation, Leaves of Absence, and Accommodation primary responsibility is  the administration of workers' compensation claims, leaves of absence, and reasonable accommodations processes within the organization. This individual will work closely with the HR and Health &amp; Safety teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements, support employee needs, and promote a safe and inclusive workplace. In addition, the position will support the daily operations of the US benefit programs Work Location:  San Diego (Rancho Bernardo)Work Mode:  Hybrid with three days on-site.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Responsibilities:<ul> <li>Workers Compensation Management: <ul> <li>Administer the workers' compensation program, including claim initiation, documentation, and follow-up.</li> <li>Collaborate with employees, managers, and insurance providers to facilitate timely claims processing.</li> <li>Monitor and report on workers' compensation claims trends and outcomes.</li> </ul></li> <li>Leaves of Absence Administration: <ul> <li>Manage the leaves of absence process, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leave policies.</li> <li>Provide guidance to employees regarding their rights and responsibilities related to leaves of absence.</li> <li>Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of leave requests and approvals.</li> </ul></li> <li>Reasonable Accommodations: <ul> <li>Assess and process requests for reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA and company policies.</li> <li>Work with employees and management to identify appropriate accommodations that support employee needs while maintaining operational efficiency.</li> <li>Maintain documentation and track accommodation requests and outcomes.</li> </ul></li> <li>Collaboration and Communication: <ul> <li>Partner with the Health &amp; Safety team to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with safety regulations.</li> <li>Provide training and resources to HR staff and management on workers' compensation, leaves of absence, and accommodation policies.</li> <li>Respond to employees seeking assistance with US benefit questions, in particular workers' compensation, leave, or accommodation inquiries.</li> <li>Assist in open enrollment including creation of materials, conducting training and ensuring system accuracy.</li> <li>Provide back up support with carrier file feeds and questions.</li> <li>Coordinate with payroll on employee’s pay during leave of absence.</li> </ul></li> <li>Compliance and Reporting: <ul> <li>Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to benefit regulations.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain reports on claims, leaves, and accommodations for management review.</li> <li>Conduct audits and compliance reviews.</li> </ul></li></ul>Supervision of Others: NoneWorking Conditions: This position may require occasional travel to various company locations. The role involves working in an office environment with standard office equipment.<h2>Qualifications</h2>Education/Experience:<ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in HR, specifically in workers' compensation, leaves of absence, or accommodations. Specific experience working with the states with disability and parental leave programs, like California, Colorado and Washington.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA, and related laws. </li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.</li></ul>
