The Buyer must be a skilled negotiator and provide a systematic weighing of all available information, to arrive at a logical conclusion and the attainment of planned buying and profit goals. The incumbent organizes and assembles purchasing cost data; develops, analyzes and presents cost information to management in such a manner that it is useful for decision making and price trend analysis.<h2>RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:</h2><ul><li>Oversee purchasing of raw materials, components, and services to meet production and business requirements.</li><li>Ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials to support production and sales</li><li>Work to resolve materials issues while achieving and maintaining business metrics</li><li>Organized individual- will maintain a record of all transactions, deviations and modifications.</li></ul><ul><li>Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.</li><li>Proactively report product and material availability issues</li><li>Maintain, monitor Master Data; revise essential system procurement data to ensure SAP system is effectively flowing down requirements</li><li>Ensure effective inventory management: inventory reduction activities; monitor and prevent E&amp;O;</li><li>Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in SAP.</li><li>Proactively provide supply status and shipment tracking to Trade Compliance and Production/Planning team.</li><li>Coordinate with internal export control department to ensure the required international shipping and commercial documents are in place for all international shipments</li><li>Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment floor stock program and recommend changes, additions, removals as necessary</li><li>Provide materials input to all ECN approvals and execute all required materials transactions resulting from ECN dispositions.  This includes changes in stock, changes in POs and changes in production jobs.</li><li>Manage Acton MRB process, coordinating with the Director of Quality and Customer Service to properly and efficiently disposition and react to all non-conforming material</li><li>Complete special projects and assignments as requested</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience</li><li>At least 4 years of purchasing experience</li><li>Excellent oral and written skills will be essential for successful negotiations and the documentation of legal and other contract information. </li><li>Ideal candidate will be professional, self-motivated, with the ability to act independently.</li><li>Must be creative and effective in problem solving.</li><li>Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems expeditiously</li><li>Experience with MRP/ERP systems, specifically SAP (version S4 Hana)</li><li>Experience negotiating and managing significant supplier partnering arrangements/ procurements.</li><li>Proficiency with MS Office applications, specifically MS Word and MS Excel.</li><li>Experience with ISO 9000.</li><li>Ideal candidates have an engineering or technical background and history of success in the following areas:</li><li>Outsourcing &amp; Secondary Sourcing</li><li>Cost reduction</li><li>Lean manufacturing</li><li>Knowledge of Kanban and/or consignment inventory strategy</li><li>Working knowledge of business process improvement.</li><li>Detailed understanding of machining processes and fabricated part drawings is preferred.</li><li>Detailed understanding of machining processes and technical knowledge and experience reading and understanding drawings of machined and fabricated part is preferred.</li></ul><ul><li>APICS certifications such as CPIM (Certified in production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification desirable.</li><li>In depth knowledge of optical components and related sub-assemblies is highly desirable.</li></ul>Citizenship RequirementsDue to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.  Salary Range: $96,600.00-$128,800.000Pay TransparencyThe anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
