Manager, Engineering Delivery

We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring. Summary:  The Manager, Engineering Delivery leads the engineering project management effort, including a team of project managers, in support of RES renewable energy projects. This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days in office. Requirements:    <ul><li>Acts as liaison and resource for development and construction teams with Company’s engineering resources throughout the project life cycle. </li><li>Acts as key point of contact for Pre-construction and Construction for all engineering Statements of Work (SOWs.) Aligns individual and team objective to department and company objectives.</li><li>Provides oversight and support of Assistant and Engineering Project Managers during project activities.</li><li>Manages and supports employee development and growth.</li><li>Provides regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress to direct reports.</li><li>Works closely with Assistant/Engineering Project Managers (A/EPM) on assigned projects (EPC, bid-build, major bids).</li><li>Reviews RFP and contract documents and exhibits to identify key items for engineering and provide engineering feedback for incorporation into final versions.</li><li>Works closely with the scheduling department and pre-construction to ensure all engineering deliverables are available when necessary to meet overall project schedule.</li><li>Identifies scope, develops schedules, and coordinates the engineering and design activities for: <ul><li>Major bid/RFP opportunities </li><li>EPC construction projects </li></ul></li><li>Establishes, communicates, and manages project engineering budget, schedule and scope expectations. </li><li>Creates and maintains Request for Information (RFI) register with the document control system (Procore). </li><li>Performs review of designs provided by Engineer of Record for compliance to technical specifications/requirements/scope of work.</li><li>Identifies and develops SOW for engineering peer review of Engineer of Record design(s) with the RES engineering team. </li><li>Seeks continuous improvement opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design. </li><li>Identifies and quantifies potential risks, contract clarifications, and exclusions. </li><li>Facilitates handovers to project teams when projects are won or transition to late-stage development Design engineering / construction phase. </li><li>Identify and coordinate with outside engineers for services on projects.</li><li>Operates Company vehicle, as needed, for business at projects and meetings; eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.</li><li>Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.</li><li>Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies &amp; Procedures.</li><li>Coordinates and host engineering kick off meetings (client and internal). </li><li>Assists Project Manager with establishing Job codes / Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Project creation wizard (create folder structure and work order) for design/construction phase. </li><li>Assists construction project coordinator to set-up document control system (Procore). </li><li>Maintains upkeep of design change log for periodic distribution to the Project Manager. </li><li>Ensures that the A/EPM sets up and coordinates technical design review meetings. </li><li>Ensures that the A/EPM sets up and coordinates Safety Thru Design review meetings. </li><li>Ensures that the A/EPM schedules and supports organizing site visits for Engineering.</li></ul> Safety: <ul><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. </li><li>Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.</li><li>Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.</li><li>Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.</li><li>Adheres to and ensures all site team members understands standard operating procedures.</li><li>Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.</li></ul> Leadership: <ul><li>Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.</li><li>Manages one or more direct reports.</li><li>Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.</li><li>Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.</li><li>Aligns individual and team objective to department and company objectives.</li><li>Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.</li><li>Employee Development:<ul><li>Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities. </li><li>Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.</li><li>Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.</li></ul></li></ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline, or equivalent years’ (4-6 years) related experience, required.</li><li>Project management Certification, preferred.</li><li>Professional Engineer Certification, preferred.</li><li>Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration or similar, preferred.</li><li>5+ years of cumulative engineering experience with relevant renewable energy experience, required.</li><li>1+ years of demonstrated leadership and portfolio management experience, preferred.</li><li>Valid Driver’s License, Required.</li><li>Ability to travel 5-15% of the time domestically and internationally.</li><li>Ability to speak and write in English</li><li>Expert level of knowledge in: <ul><li>Communication, internally and externally </li><li>General Civil, Structural, Electrical, SCADA, and Mechanical Design </li><li>General Design for Constructability </li></ul></li><li>Advanced level of knowledge in: <ul><li>Renewable Power Plant Design </li><li>Renewable Power Plant Performance Analysis </li><li>Project Scheduling Tools </li><li>Familiarity with Industry Standards </li><li>Personnel Management </li><li>Client Management </li><li>Organization </li></ul></li><li>Intermediate level of knowledge in: <ul><li>Fundamental understanding of AutoCAD</li><li>MS Office (Project, Excel (charts, graphs, bars, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, SUMIF, filtering, creating macros to automate common tasks, managing large amounts of data), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)</li></ul></li></ul> Anticipated base salary range:  $126,000 - $157,000 The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
