You will manage the successful delivery of multi‑disciplinary works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Managing the programme of works across both electrical and civils contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, safely, and within budget.</li><li>Leading day‑to‑day contractor and stakeholder relationships, acting as the key interface for project delivery.</li><li>Overseeing civils‑biased elements of major distribution projects, including substations, cable routes, and enabling works.</li><li>Developing, monitoring, and reporting on project and construction programmes.</li><li>Ensuring projects comply with SPEN engineering, technical and safety standards, including CDM regulations.</li><li>Coordinating outage planning and ensuring impacts to the network are minimised.</li><li>Supporting robust communication with landowners, local authorities, customers, and internal teams.</li><li>Promoting exemplary safety behaviours and ensuring full compliance with legislation and SPEN safety rules.</li><li>Driving continual improvement through analysis of project outcomes and contractor performance.</li></ul>What you’ll bring<ul><li>Strong project/programme management experience — ideally gained within civils biased engineering projects, preferably on electrical networks or utilities.</li><li>Experience coordinating internal engineering teams and external contractors.</li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities across a busy, multi‑project portfolio.</li><li>Knowledge of construction, civils works, safety legislation, CDM regulations and associated compliance requirements.</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Ability to develop project plans, risk assessments and deliver against challenging timelines.</li><li>Commercial and contract awareness with a focus on value, quality, and performance.</li></ul>Minimum Criteria<ul><li>HNC/D or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).</li><li>Proven experience in the construction or delivery of electricity network or utility infrastructure projects.</li><li>Civils experience on network‑related projects (e.g., substations, cable routes, enabling works) is highly desirable.</li><li>Computer literacy and ability to use project management and reporting tools effectively.</li></ul>What’s in it for youAs well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
