The candidate must have experience in field inspection and testing of construction materials on highway or similar infrastructure projects to ensure quality standards and compliance with project specifications.<ul><li>Perform duties as defined by the Resident Engineer.</li><li>Conduct field testing of highway embankments, pavement structures, and other construction materials.</li><li>Carry out asphalt and other material testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.</li><li>Verify the suitability and acceptance of construction materials according to project specifications.</li><li>Inspect material delivery, handling, and storage on-site to ensure quality standards are maintained.</li><li>Assist in maintaining proper documentation of test results, field observations, and site activities.</li><li>Support the Resident Engineer in monitoring material quality and testing procedures.</li><li>Assist in sampling and testing of materials in both field and laboratory settings.</li><li>Ensure adherence to project safety and environmental regulations during material handling and testing.</li></ul>With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.Suitable applicants will have/be:<ul><li>Tertiary qualifications: Diploma in Civil or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.</li><li>Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a material inspector on highway construction projects.</li><li>Knowledge of field-testing procedures for embankments, pavements, and asphalt.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to technical specifications.</li></ul>SMEC is an equal opportunity employer.
