Position Summary: The EHS Specialist supports field operations, maintenance activities, industrial service projects, asbestos abatement and more by implementing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs. Our employees are affectionately known as team green, a name that unites us all under our shared purpose of providing sustainable solutions to enable our customers and communities to be GREEN FOR LIFE!<ul><li>3 weeks PTO annually</li><li>4 medical plan options including an HSA with employer contribution &amp; match program, dental, and vision coverage.</li><li>401(k) with an employer match</li><li>Paid holidays</li><li>Employee Assistance Program with free counseling services.</li></ul>Key Responsibilities:Health &amp; Safety Compliance<ul><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and  other regulatory agencies and industry-specific regulations (e.g., API, NFPA).</li><li>Conduct job hazard analyses (JHA/JSA), safety observations, and field audits.</li><li>Lead or assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.</li><li>Maintain and update company safety programs, policies, and site-specific plans.</li></ul>Training &amp; Workforce Development<ul><li>Deliver safety training such as HAZWOPER, confined space entry, respiratory protection, lockout/tagout, spill response, and equipment-specific topics.</li><li>Track employee certifications, medical clearances, and competency records.</li><li>Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices and regulatory requirements.</li></ul>Environmental Compliance<ul><li>Oversee spill prevention, waste handling, hazardous materials management, and environmental reporting.</li><li>Provide guidance on air emissions, water discharge compliance, and stormwater or erosion control where applicable.</li><li>Support environmental monitoring, sampling, and inspections.</li></ul>Field Support<ul><li>Provide on-site EHS support for abatement, demolition, remediation, tank cleaning, vacuum truck operations, emergency response, and industrial services.</li><li>Participate in pre-job planning, tailgate meetings, and permitting processes.</li><li>Monitor contractor compliance and coordinate with project managers and supervisors.</li><li>Create safety plans and emergency evacuation plans</li><li>Create confined space plans</li></ul>Documentation &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Maintain safety metrics, incident logs, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.</li><li>Assist with customer-required reporting, safety audits, and performance reviews.</li><li>Participate in internal and external audits.</li></ul>Qualifications:Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.</li><li>2–5+ years of EHS experience in asbestos, oil &amp; gas, industrial services, or heavy industry.</li><li>Equivalent field experience may be considered.</li></ul>Certifications (Preferred)<ul><li>HAZWOPER 40 Asbestos Supervisor </li><li>OSHA 30</li><li>First Aid/CPR</li><li>PEC/Safeland or SafeGulf</li><li>CHST, ASP, CSP (bonus)</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and industry best practices.</li><li>Ability to conduct training and communicate effectively with field crews.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and incident investigation skills.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google and safety management software.</li><li>Ability to travel and work in varying outdoor conditions.</li></ul>Work Environment<ul><li>Field-based role visiting job sites including construction, refineries, and industrial facilities.</li><li>PPE required including respirators, FR clothing, and fall protection.</li><li>May require extended hours during critical operations or emergencies.</li></ul>#GFLTalent  We thank you for your interest.
