Position Summary Trout Unlimited (TU) is seeking an Aquatic Restoration Seasonal Technician (Technician) based in the Green River Basin of southwest Wyoming to help fulfill the organization’s mission. We are seeking to fill 4 temporary seasonal positions, one crew lead and three technicians. The technicians will assist TU staff with projects to restore wet meadow and aquatic habitat and promote long-term values associated with aquatic restoration in Wyoming. The primary responsibility of this position is to complete wet meadow restoration through installation and maintenance of low-tech process-based techniques such as beaver dam analogs, zeedyk structures, and tree plantings. Additional duties may include assisting with fishery and habitat surveys, monitoring recently-completed project sites, conifer removal, willow planting and harvesting, and assisting TU and partners with riparian and virtual fencing maintenance.  The position will require frequent overnight travel to remote locations in Wyoming (camping in and around project sites) and will work an expected schedule of ten days on and 4 days off, not to exceed 80 hours every two weeks for the majority of the field season. During May and potentially September, there will be some 5 days on and 2 days off weeks. The anticipated employment date range is from mid-May through August 2026, with the potential to extend through September 2026. Housing will be provided at the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 30 miles north of Green River, WY. However, this position will primarily involve completing field work across the Green River Basin in Wyoming and will require remote camping often. This position will be paid at a rate of $18-$20  per hour. Housing and work vehicle/fuel will be provided. Technicians are expected to provide their own camping equipment. Requirements  Duties and Responsibilities·Install restoration practices at remote project sites. This will include constructing beaver dam analogs, zeedyks, willow/tree plantings, conifer removal, and riparian fencing.· Collect accurate field data and ensure data is submitted in a timely manner.· Assist with a variety of stream surveys including habitat and fishery assessments and project monitoring.· Assist with the maintenance of equipment in the field.· Maintain situational awareness and manage risk in a remote field environment. · Work as a team with a high degree of coordination and communication.· Participate in education and outreach efforts with project partners and the public. *This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities.   Job Requirements· Ideally working towards or completed a B.S. in a field related to fisheries management, aquatic ecology, environmental science, geology, watershed management, geomorphology, hydrology, or biological systems engineering. · A working knowledge of principles and practices of fisheries or aquatic resources.· Outstanding interpersonal communication skills. · Ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds.· Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.  · Ability to solve problems and think creatively to achieve a conservation mission.· Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.· Willingness to travel (frequently overnight) to remote locations.· Capable of hiking and carrying equipment in difficult terrain and working in inclement conditions.  · Experience in and comfort with camping on a nightly basis in remote locations with limited cell reception.· Valid driver’s license.· Passion for protecting and restoring trout populations and their watersheds. · Self-motivated and highly energetic, with excellent time-management skills.<div>Salary Description</div><div>$18-20/hour</div>
