We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesINSPECTION &amp; VERIFICATION <ul><li>Inspect raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards</li><li>Plan inspection methods and perform a wide variety of gauging set-ups to identify nonconformance's at incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages.</li><li>Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and sample inspections to verify product compliance prior to release to the next operation or to stock.</li></ul>MEASUREMENT &amp; METROLOGY<ul><li>Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, indicators, meters, and surface plates.</li><li>Select appropriate measurement tools based on tolerance requirements and inspection characteristics.</li><li>Perform layout inspections using surface plate techniques to verify geometric characteristics such as angularity, concentricity, parallelism, and perpendicularity.</li></ul>DOCUMENTATION &amp; REPORTING<ul><li>Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and GD&amp;T requirements.</li><li>Verify certification documentation for materials requiring certification and report discrepancies to supervision.</li><li>Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports documenting inspection results, deviations, and nonconformance's.</li><li>Maintain organized inspection records and documentation in accordance with ISO and internal quality systems.</li></ul>QUALITY SUPPORT &amp; CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT<ul><li>Apply statistical sampling plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and geometric tolerancing logic during inspections.</li><li>Assist production personnel with inspections requirements, measurement techniques, and quality standards as needed.</li><li>Notify supervision promptly of non-conforming material, product defects, shortages, or equipment issues.</li><li>Support Materials Disposition activities, including identification and confirmation of nonconforming material when required.</li></ul>EQUIPMENT &amp; WORK ENVIRONMENT<ul><li>Set production and inspection gages for personal or shared use.</li><li>Perform minor gage adjustment or coordinate calibration, cleaning, or repair through the Metrology Lab as required.</li><li>Maintain gauging, equipment, and work areas using 5S and preventative maintenance practices.</li><li>Move materials using hand powered equipment as necessary.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent required.</li><li>Ability to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and geometry.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&amp;T.</li><li>Successful completion of inspection qualification testing required.</li></ul>Experience &amp; Skills<ul><li>Minimum of 1 year experience as an inspector in machining or manufacturing environment or</li><li>1 year of experience as a machine operator responsible for performing inspections Required Knowledge &amp; Skills</li><li>Blueprint and drawing interpretation</li><li>Statistical Process Control (SPC)</li><li>Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&amp;T)</li><li>Dimensional Metrology</li><li>ISO 9001 quality systems</li><li>Proficiency in computer navigation and Microsoft Office Tools</li></ul>Rate of pay:  $31.56 (full scale)  (individuals will come in at 80% for the 1st year = $25.25) (90% the 2nd year of service) (100% start of year 3) with additional yearly raises per the CBA. Working Conditions<ul><li>Work performed in manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to temperature extremes, noise, dust, and moving machinery.</li><li>Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.</li><li>Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed.</li><li>Must be able to work various shifts or overtime as needed to support production</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
