We’re building a team of passionate, pragmatic problem-solvers who are committed to making clean energy simple, equitable, and reliable for everyone. </p><h2>About the Role</h2><p>Haven Energy is seeking an Interconnection Manager to own the interconnection (IX) pipeline end to end from application drafting through Permission to Operate (PTO). This role is critical to ensuring projects move efficiently through utilities, programs, and partners as we scale solar + storage nationwide.</p><p>This position blends hands-on interconnection execution with data-driven performance management. You will manage daily interconnection workflows while also owning metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and driving continuous improvement across utilities, vendors, and internal teams.</p><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><h3>End-to-End Interconnection Ownership</h3><ul><li>Own the full interconnection lifecycle for residential solar + storage projects, from application preparation and submission through approvals and PTO.</li><li>Draft, submit, and manage accurate interconnection applications across multiple utilities and jurisdictions.</li><li>Actively track project status, utility responses, corrections, resubmissions, and approvals to keep projects moving forward.</li><li>Resolve interconnection issues and escalate strategically when risks to timelines or customer experience arise.</li></ul><h3>Utility &amp; Program Management</h3><ul><li>Serve as Haven’s primary point of contact for utility interconnection teams and program administrators.</li><li>Manage utility requirements related to:<ul><li>Rate changes</li><li>Tariff changes (e.g., NEM, NEM 2, NBT)</li><li>Interconnection applications and approvals</li></ul></li><li>Stay current on evolving utility rules, tariffs, and technical requirements and translate them into clear operational guidance.</li></ul><h3>Utility &amp; Vendor Coordination</h3><ul><li>Manage vendor performance related to interconnection accuracy, responsiveness, and cycle times.</li><li>Provide structured feedback and drive improvements to reduce resubmissions and delays.</li></ul><h3>Interconnection Analytics &amp; Performance Management</h3><ul><li>Own key interconnection performance metrics, including cycle times, utility SLAs, resubmission rates, PTO aging, and fallout reasons.</li><li>Build and maintain clear visibility into the IX pipeline through dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools.</li><li>Analyze trends and bottlenecks across utilities, vendors, and regions, and drive targeted process improvements.</li><li>Partner with Operations and Digital teams to improve data quality, automate reporting, and scale interconnection workflows.</li><li>Use data to proactively forecast risk, capacity constraints, and delays, informing operational planning and customer communications.</li></ul><h3>What You’ll Bring</h3><ul><li>5+ years of experience managing interconnection for residential solar and/or battery storage projects with California IOU and municipal utility experience</li><li>Strong working knowledge of utility interconnection processes, tariffs, and technical requirements.</li><li>Comfort working with data, metrics, and dashboards to manage performance and prioritize work.</li><li>Proven ability to manage a high-volume operational pipeline with precision and accountability.</li><li>Experience coordinating across utilities, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams.</li><li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues before they become blockers.</li><li>Clear, confident communicator who can navigate complex utility and partner conversations.</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with evolving processes.</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience with battery-heavy or storage-only interconnections.</li><li>Familiarity with VPPs, demand response programs, or grid services enrollment.</li><li>Experience working closely with design or engineering teams on interconnection requirements.</li><li>NEM / successor tariff experience.</li></ul><h3>Why Join Haven Energy</h3><ul><li>Own a mission-critical function at a high-growth climate tech company.</li><li>Have real autonomy and influence over how Haven scales interconnection nationwide.</li><li>Work alongside a collaborative, high-trust team that values ownership and clarity.</li><li>Competitive compensation, equity, and full benefits.</li><li>Help build a more resilient, flexible, and equitable energy system, one interconnected project at a time.</li></ul><p><strong>Want to shape how distributed energy shows up on the grid? </strong>Help us navigate utilities, streamline interconnection, and unlock clean energy at scale.</p>
