Duties include monitoring BESS Plant operation through SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC BESS systems, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, Sub-Station equipment and metering systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of contractors to ensure safe, high quality and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to company and client protocols, safety procedures and regulations. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and safe best practices (e.g. lock-out/tag-out compliance, JHA completion, and compliance with all company safety policies or procedures and work practices). </li><li>Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas assigned.</li><li>Understanding of electrical safety, local and national electrical codes and arc flash standards.</li><li>Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles.</li><li>Always maintain integrity and follow Arevon safety policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems. </li><li>Perform onsite installations, repairs, and troubleshooting. </li><li>Carry out site root analysis and apply root cause analysis techniques on all major and recurring faults. </li><li>Investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical reports. </li><li>Collaborate with internal Arevon teams to collect and produce data for various agencies that require reporting documents (NERC, EPA, OSHA, etc.). </li><li>Ability to create and follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.</li><li>Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles.</li><li>Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, batteries and inverters to name a few.</li><li>Capable of retrieving relay files and submitting to engineering for review.</li><li>Assist with writing and enforcing work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures.</li><li> Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.</li><li>Perform testing using Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment, as needed.</li><li>Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels of all materials on the sites.</li><li>Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) are required.</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.</li><li>Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues.</li><li>Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues.</li><li>Maintain work area and site housecleaning to company standards.</li><li>Must be available for night, overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required.</li><li>May be required to support job responsibilities as needed outside of scheduled work hours.</li><li>Travel may be required.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>3 years of direct experience as a BESS technician or PV solar technician or 6 years' experience in a non-solar electrical maintenance role.  </li><li>Excellent writing and verbal skills.</li><li>Valid U.S. Driver license with acceptable MVR history.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. </li><li>Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers and vendors.  </li><li>Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel/composite toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).</li><li>Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.</li><li>Will lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.</li><li>Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>CEC license or technical degree preferred. Electrical certifications, state, journeyman, etc. a plus.</li><li>Experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance preferred.</li><li>Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.</li><li>Strong Understanding of renewable energy technology. </li></ul>Why Join Arevon?
