This role requires a wide range of knowledge and skills that include the basics of airframe and powerplant maintenance on composite airframes to advanced electro-mechanical devices and high voltage electrical systems. The location of this role is in Marina, CA.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per company procedures and maintenance manuals</li> <li>Assist with and shadow aircraft inspections per company procedures and maintenance manuals with senior members of the team</li> <li>Assist with and shadow the removal and replacement of airframe, powerplant, and electrical components per company procedures and maintenance manuals with supervision</li> <li>Perform launch and recovery of aircraft including ground operations and observer responsibilities, as well as pre- and post-flight activities</li> <li>Participate in Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) in accordance with company guidelines</li> <li>Maintain and operate ground support equipment</li> <li>Help continually develop maintenance manuals and supporting documentation necessary to operate and maintain our vehicles</li> <li>Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company</li> <li>Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices</li> <li>Other duties as assigned or required</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of mechanical and electrical experience</li> <li>Must be able to work with electro-mechanical devices, high voltage power systems, and electronics equipment. Relevant training will be provided</li> <li>Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents</li> <li>Must possess general working knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring equipment</li> <li>Basic computer and interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with coworkers</li> <li>Must be able to work both independently and on a team and be able to work extended hours and travel as required</li> <li>Read and speak English proficiently</li> <li>Ability to present up to date logged hours towards obtaining your A&amp;P license</li></ul><p> </p><p>Physical Requirements</p><ul> <li>Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. </li> <li>Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands</li> <li>Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.</li> <li>Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum 50 pounds</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Experience working on experimental and/or prototype vehicles</li> <li>FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate</li> <li>Part 135 maintenance experience</li> <li>Composite fabrication and repair experience</li> <li>Cessna 208 mechanic experience</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
