AECOM’s Design and Consulting Services-Americas legal department is actively seeking a creative, highly talented attorney to support AECOM’s operations in its West Region. This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office, that can be based in larger AECOM offices located within the West to include, but not be limited to Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; and Denver, CO. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in construction law and legal issues related to commercial contracts for engineering, construction, and other technical services.The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Guidance on risk management and adherence to company policies</li><li>Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts and other legal documents relating to architecture, engineering, construction, environmental, and other services provided by the company to clients in the public and private sectors, including documents related to teaming arrangements, joint ventures, confidentiality agreements, licenses, purchase and sales agreements, insurance, and other matters</li><li>Experience negotiating and drafting contracts for infrastructure projects procured and delivered through alternative delivery mechanisms, including design-build, progressive design-build P3, and EPC</li><li>Experience advising and providing legal support to AEC teams during procurement and delivery of heavy civil, transit, water, aviation, energy and social infrastructure alternative delivery projects</li><li>Act in an advisory capacity making recommendations that may have an important bearing on the conduct of the organization's business</li><li>Work with management and staff to resolve pre-litigation disputes and potential claims</li><li>Supervise and manage litigation, including professional liability, breach of contract, and personal injury/wrongful death matters, utilizing outside counsel retained by the company to maximize quality and cost-effectiveness</li><li>Manage external counsel and litigation budgets</li><li>Handle subpoenas, document requests, and other litigation related items with limited support staff</li><li>Prepare and review disclosures to public agencies and support corporate secretary functions</li><li>Review and conduct research into legislation, cases and legal precedents and emerging government policies to the extent required to address contract-specific or other matters</li><li>Prepare and review legal memoranda and briefs relating to organizational risks and activities</li><li>Provide staff with guidance on compliance with federal and provincial laws, statutes and regulations</li><li>Provide support to multiple offices, and support other team members within the broader West Region as may be necessary based on experience and/or work loads</li></ul>
