<h2>Division</h2>OmniSource<h2>Overview</h2><p>OmniSource is looking for a Safety Clerk to become part of our Safety Team in our Southwest Division. Ideal Safety Clerk will aid in all aspects of Safety Department operations and continue to make our safety culture world class.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Safety Training assistance – scheduling, preparation, auditing, tracking, reporting, and distribution of materials</li> <li>Safety equipment assistance (new hires &amp; others) – lockout locks/tags, fall protection equipment, etc.</li> <li>Safety Calendar – assistance with tracking initiatives status</li> <li>Hazard Communication Program assistance – SDS database and chemical inventories management.</li> <li>Incident Management System (IMS) assistance (incident tracking, reports, etc)</li> <li>Safety Audits (internal and external) assistance w/ prep &amp; response</li> <li>Contractor Management assistance (Marsh, ISNetworld, hours, etc.)</li> <li>Worker’s Comp assistance</li> <li>Communications assistance (Safety Alerts, Toolbox Talks, etc.)</li> <li>Support all safety personnel with division-specific safety initiatives and programs</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><p><strong>Required</strong></p><ul> <li>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)</li> <li>Excellent computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office suite</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul> <li>OHSA 10-Hour Course Completion</li> <li>CPR, AED, First-Aid Certification</li> <li>Degree in administrative field</li> <li>2+ years clerical experience</li> <li>Experience with regulatory environment</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong><em>Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers. </em></strong></p>

<p>OmniSource, LLC is a multifaceted metals-recycling company&mdash;one of North America&rsquo;s largest processors and distributors of scrap and secondary metals. We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. Through recent expansions and acquisitions, we can now process 7 million tons of ferrous scrap per year and more than 1 billion pounds of nonferrous metals. We currently operate more than 70 collection and processing facilities, including 11 high-capacity shredders as well as other metals processing facilities, and employ about 2,500 people. Our primary collection and processing facilities are in the Midwest, the Southeast, and the mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
