Coastal Roots Farm was incubated by the Leichtag Foundation in 2014 and received 501(c)(3) public charity status in 2015. Position Overview A Seasonal Educator will work variable hours per week, up to 40 hours, and will support Coastal Roots Farm’s Education Department in implementing Jewish and Farm-based educational programs during Farm Camp reaching community members of all backgrounds with a focus on TK-8th grade students. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication, public speaking, and group facilitation skills, interest in Jewish tradition, agriculture, and environmental stewardship, a passion for working with young people, and a welcoming disposition. They have the ability to teach these concepts to a variety of ages 4-13 years old and have experience in formal, informal, and/or outdoor learning environments. There will be exposure to Southern California outside temperatures, chemicals used in the agricultural industry, and loud noises.  Essential Physical Tasks The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
