The Safety Manager, reporting to the Safety &amp; Health Program Manager enforces the Company Safety program and insures that job site(s) are in compliance with federal, state and local health and safety standards. The Site Safety Manager will administer job-specific safety related training and the enforce all safety procedures to ensure the safety of the physical environment for employees and sub-contractors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Administers, executes and continually improves the Safety and Health Program</li><li>Manages, monitors, and conducts inspection of services for safety and contract compliance</li><li>Maintains all safety metrics for the project</li><li>Collects, records, reports and analyses all safety data for trends</li><li>Performs the role of investigative lead in complex investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents</li><li>Provides root cause analysis by examining evidence gathered from conducting in-depth victim, casualty and witness interviews, and photographic evidence </li><li>Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and ensures proper records/documents are maintained</li><li>Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization</li><li>Perform collateral duty assignments such as environmental, Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO), and special topics as assigned</li><li>Participates in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine surveys including the developing and drafting of audit documentation</li><li>Coordinates with others for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently and effectively</li><li>First responder to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate health / safety/ security concerns</li><li>Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices</li><li>Conduct daily site visits unless weather stops work for the day</li><li>Conduct written Site Audits and/or Job Behavior Observations at a frequency dictated by management and/or client</li><li>Provides safety training to all site staff</li><li>Reports safety trends to the Project Manager and the Corporate Safety Manager</li><li>Identifies and mitigates all safety hazards in a practical, timely, and responsible fashion</li><li>Uses judgment and initiative in the selection, interpretations and application of guides, making compromises and adaptations, when necessary within the framework of established contractual objectives</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of solar construction and construction equipment and tools</li><li>Demonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks</li><li>Demonstrated awareness and understanding of EHS policy and management system, the importance of confirming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures</li><li>Knowledge of power generation mechanical and electrical systems</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities</li><li>Ability to travel extended periods of time</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy </li><li>Ability to maintain an established work schedule</li><li>Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures </li><li>Effective organization and planning skills</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to safely drive a company vehicle</li><li>Demonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations</li><li> </li></ul>Education / Experience:<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent (required)</li><li>BS Degree in safety or a related field with five (5) years of construction safety experience or ten (10) years of construction safety experience.</li><li>Must be Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer</li><li>Have obtained OSHA 30 Certification</li><li>Authorized CPR/First Aid/AED Certified</li><li>Valid Driver’s License Required with a clean driving record. </li></ul>Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this jobPhysical Demands<ul><li>The environmental conditions for this job range from indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, wind, and various forms of precipitation.
