With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as the Part Handling Supervisor. This role is responsible for leading the Part Handling Technician team to ensure the safe, compliant, and on-time movement of composite parts and jigs across the Marina Joby campus. This role owns daily execution, safety compliance, standard lead times, continuous improvement of part handling and material flow to support uninterrupted composite fabrication operations. In addition, this role requires development of the process and a continuous improvement mindset to uphold Joby’s high bar of excellence.   Joby Aviation is dedicated to training and developing individuals with potential, and we are looking for apprentices who are eager to learn and grow within our company.   </p><p> </p><p>1st shift Monday - Thursday: 7am-5:30pm2nd shift Monday-Thursday: 5:30pm-4:00am3rd shift: Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Safely move composite parts, tools, and fixtures between buildings, work centers, and storage locations across the Marina, Ca campus. </li></ul><ul> <li>Follow all safety protocols, lifting requirements, and traffic rules to prevent injury and part damage. </li></ul><ul> <li>Meet defined standard lead times for part movement to support production schedules. </li></ul><ul> <li>Verify part identification, routing, and documentation prior to transport. </li></ul><ul> <li>Protect parts from FOD, environmental exposure, and handling damage during movement. </li></ul><ul> <li>Use material handling equipment (dedicated vehicles, carts, dollies, forklifts, etc.) in accordance with training and certification. </li></ul><ul> <li>Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics teams to prioritize urgent or time‑critical moves. </li></ul><ul> <li>Report and escalate safety concerns, damaged parts, or process deviations immediately. </li></ul><ul> <li>Maintain organized staging, storage, and transit areas to support 5S standards. </li></ul><ul> <li>Support audits and continuous improvement efforts related to material flow and safety. </li></ul><ul> <li>Adhere to all EHS requirements and Joby safety policies at all times. </li></ul><ul> <li>Maintain composite handling best practices to avoid dents, delamination, and contamination. </li></ul><ul> <li>Ensure compliance with applicable composite process specifications and handling standards. </li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>HS Diploma or GED Equivalent </li> <li>Prior experience supervising or leading teams in a manufacturing or operations environment (2+ years)  </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience working in fast-paced, time sensitive environments </li></ul><ul> <li>Demonstrated abilities following standardized work instructions, technical requirements, and executing standard processes.  </li> <ul>  <li>Ability to lift 50lbs aided or unaided throughout the day. </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.  </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Must wear PPE when required. </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials and able to become certified to wear a respirator.  </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods. </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces  </li> </ul> <ul>  <li>Ability to become forklift, crane, or equipment certified </li>  <li>Must be able to continuously stand, squatt bend, pull, twist, and lift throughout the workday. </li> </ul></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>1+ year of manufacturing experience  </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience in a high-volume production environment that relies on a well-defined process to achieve maximum efficiency.   </li></ul><ul> <li>Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S environments.  </li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p> </p><p>The target base pay for this position is $70,304 - $89,300/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.</p><p>Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.</p><p> </p>
