The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. A key focus will be continuous improvement of TP ICAP Cloud Platform estate.This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services and a solid foundation in DevOps methodologies.Team Lead ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the core Cloud Platform Engineer duties, the Team Lead will:<ul><li>Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Cloud Platform Engineers, supporting skills development and fostering a high‑performance culture.</li><li>Oversee workload distribution, ensure effective prioritization of tasks, and manage delivery timelines across the team.</li><li>Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues, driving fast and effective resolution while maintaining service stability.</li><li>Collaborate closely with the Head of Platform Engineering and cross‑functional teams to align cloud initiatives with broader technology and business objectives.</li><li>Champion best practices in cloud engineering, DevOps automation, security, and operational excellence across the team.</li><li>Contribute to strategic planning, platform roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives within the TP ICAP Cloud Platform estate.</li><li>Ensure consistent documentation standards, knowledge sharing, and adherence to engineering processes and governance models.</li><li>Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance feedback for team members, helping shape the future capability of the Cloud Platform function.</li></ul>Role Responsibilities<ul><li>Engineer and deploy highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS.</li><li>Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab</li><li>Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform or CloudFormation</li><li>Continually evaluating how we operate on cloud platforms – Input into how TP ICAP can continuously improve our cloud maturity.</li><li>Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, security, and resilience.</li><li>Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.</li><li>Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).</li><li>Stay current with the latest AWS services, DevOps tools, and industry best practices.</li></ul>Experience / Competences<ul><li>2 + years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS.</li><li>Strong understanding of network architecture and network security best practices in AWS.</li><li>Usage of Jira / Confluence</li><li>Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.</li><li>Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.</li><li>Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.</li><li>Operating Systems; Windows Server, Amazon Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu</li><li>Good understanding of security best practices for AWS Services implementation.</li><li>In depth knowledge in the following AWS Services – EC2 / RDS / VPC / IAM / Transit Gateway / Direct Connect / Cloud Watch / S3 / EBS / EKS / AWS Backup / AWS System Manager / AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Service</li><li>Good understanding of security best practices for AWS Services implementation.</li><li>Experience in designing and implementing resilient systems, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications/Skills:<ul><li>AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).</li><li>Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).</li><li>Knowledge of Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (such as wiz.io, Prisma Cloud, etc.)</li></ul>#LI-Hybrid #LI-ASONot The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
