Position OverviewApollo is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) team, whose mission is to prevent, detect, and address illicit financial activity across the firm. This individual will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and overseeing the firm’s global strategy to prevent, detect, and mitigate financial crime and reputational risks, including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions violations, fraud, bribery, and corruption risks, to ensure the Firm’s compliance with applicable international Anti-Money Laundering (AML), sanctions, and other financial crime regulations. The Compliance Officer will also help establish a compliance program for its digital assets business, including closely following regulatory developments and rulemaking in this space.The Compliance Officer will work closely with members of Apollo’s broader Compliance team, as well as with investment, operations, and legal stakeholders, to design, implement, and maintain a robust FCC program. This includes conducting investigations, enhancing monitoring frameworks, and identifying potential risks or suspicious activities that may impact the firm or its managed funds. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, strategic, and analytical thinker with strong risk management acumen and investigative experience and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage the team responsible for Financial Crimes Compliance Globally </li><li>Define and execute the global financial crime compliance framework aligned with regulatory expectations (BSA/AML, OFAC, FATF, EU directives, etc.).</li><li>Provide senior direction and oversight for compliance controls related to the firm’s investment and fundraising activities </li><li>Advise investment teams on compliance considerations with respect to the investment activities of both the firm and the funds it manages, including, regulatory issues, reputational, AML sanctions and broader financial crime risks </li><li>Participate in the firm’s Reputational Risk working group</li><li>Review new rules and regulations impacting the firm’s investment-related activities and collaborate with the investment teams, legal, and other control functions to implement new controls, governance, and frameworks to ensure compliance </li><li>Drive innovation in Compliance through technology</li><li>Provide active management, mentorship, and career development guidance to members of the team </li><li>Participate in internal/external audits of firm’s compliance program </li><li>Provide regulatory examination support, where necessary</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>15+ years legal/compliance experience at a financial services firm, alternative asset manager, or law firm </li><li>Bachelor’s Degree required; Law degree preferred </li><li>Knowledge of alternative asset managers, financial markets (their operation/mechanics), and securities market regulations (including Advisors Act, 40 Act and FINRA rules) </li><li>Meaningfully contributes to strategic dialogue and collaborates effectively with investment teams &amp; external partners</li><li>Prior experience managing a team</li><li>Ability to collaborate extensively and work in a complex and interconnected business </li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal </li><li>Ability to interact and build relationships with multiple stakeholders </li><li>High ethical standards and a strong decision-maker; ability to act independently, but also supervise/guide others </li><li>Ability to think critically and solve challenges with innovative solutions </li><li>Effectively balances multiple competing/concurrent projects </li><li>Executes strategy with the appropriate sense of urgency while also maintaining a grasp of the details  </li><li>Enjoys an entrepreneurial, fast paced, constantly evolving business environment</li></ul>Pay Range275,000 - 315,000Apollo Global Management, Inc.
