Everyone is highly valued and plays a vital role in the growth of our organization.</p></div><p>This role can be in Irvine CA or Fremont CA.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:<br>•    Serve as lead technical point of contact for US OEM customers on battery cell–related topics<br>•    Provide technical leadership in customer discussions covering cell design, performance, safety, lifetime, and manufacturability<br>•    Represent Gotion’s cell technology capabilities, roadmap, and development status to customers<br>•    Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM technical teams<br>•    Lead technical reviews and workshops with customers and internal teams from RFI/RFQ through mass production<br>•    Translate customer’s application/system-level requirements into cell design inputs with internal cell design teams<br>•    Develop and propose technical solutions to meet customer requirements<br>•    Lead technical alignment with customers on cell requirements, specifications, and validation plans<br>•    Develop test methodologies to evaluate cell and cell-in-pack performance for safety, performance, and durability<br>•    Build deep understanding of customer application use cases to inform optimal cell and pack design<br>•    Review and interpret cell test data; draw technical conclusions, identify risks, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions; communicate findings and recommendations to customers<br>•    Provide technical leadership through out cell development, manufacturing and post launch improvements<br>•    Support customer-facing quality and industrialization activities, including APQP, PPAP, and audits<br>•    Collaborate with cell designers and cell process engineers to develop DFMEA and PFMEA; coordinate FMEA reviews and alignment with customers<br>•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance cell technology, applications, and intellectual property<br>•    Up to 30% domestic and international travel</p><p>Qualifications:<br>•    MS degree in chemistry/chemical engineering/materials science with 7+ years of experience with hands-on testing of lithium-ion batteries<br>•    Experienced in Li-ion battery cell development and validation<br>•    Experience in analysis using dQdV, dQdV<br>•    Good knowledge about GITT, EIS, CV, PITT<br>•    Familiarity with cell manufacturing processes (electrode, assembly, formation, aging)<br>•    Strong understanding of cell chemistry, electrochemical performance, and degradation mechanisms<br>•    Ability to work effectively with global teams<br>•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<br>•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</p><p>Preferred/Nice to have:<br>•    Knowledge of battery safety standards and regulations (UN38.3, UL, IEC, GB, FMVSS…)<br>•    Experience working with automotive or EV OEM customers<br>•    Experience in developing FMEA, supporting APQP, PPAP, and customer audits<br>•    Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English<br>•    Hands on experience in GITT, EIS, CV, PITT..<br>•    Hands on experience in material characterization such as XRD, IR, NMR.. <br>•    Experience in large data analysis such as Python or Matlab</p><div><div><div><p>Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range.
