Thanks for your interest in joining our team!   </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key statistics: </strong></p><ul> <li>950+ Consultants </li> <li>640+ Ph.D.s </li> <li>90+ Disciplines </li> <li>30+ Offices globally </li></ul><h2>Our Opportunity</h2><p>We are currently seeking a <strong>Senior Metallurgical Engineer</strong> for our <strong>Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering</strong> Practice in <strong>Houston, TX. </strong>In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.    </p><h2>You will be responsible for</h2><ul> <li>Conducting hands-on failure analyses</li> <li>Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis</li> <li>Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing</li> <li>Conducting field inspections</li> <li>Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff</li> <li>Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff</li></ul><h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and a familiarity with Mechanical Engineering</li> <li>Minimum of at least 3 years of industry experience </li> <li>Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required</li> <li>Licensure as a professional engineer (PE) in Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not required.</li> <li>Certification through the American Petroleum Institute’s Individual Certification Programs (e.g., API 580) is preferred but not required.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team</li> <li>Knowledge of failure analysis desired    </li> <li>Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required</li></ul><p> </p><p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em></p><h2>Life @ Exponent</h2><p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponent https://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p><p> </p><p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
