The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web‑based user interfaces that are reliable, scalable, and intuitive. The role involves delivering high‑quality code supported by automated testing, working closely with cross‑functional teams, and contributing to wireframing and rapid prototyping activities. The Principal Web Developer is expected to demonstrate an agile mindset, produce clear and comprehensive documentation, and exhibit T‑shaped capabilities by supporting teammates across different disciplines. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with business analysts, designers, and other technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Role Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain web-based user interfaces written in Typescript using React </li><li>Ensure high-quality code through automated testing, particularly integration testing, and maintain a strong emphasis on code quality. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts (BAs), QA engineers, and Project Managers (PMs), to deliver solutions that meet business requirements. </li><li>Wireframing user interfaces for rapid prototyping and feedback </li><li>Demonstrate T-shaped skills by actively contributing to all areas of development and assisting team members in developing their own T-shaped skills </li><li>Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to an agile mindset within the team. </li><li>Maintain detailed documentation of code, processes, and system configurations. </li></ul><ul><li>Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders.</li><li>Interpret business requirements into technical specifications.</li><li>Document technical designs, workflows, and deployment guides.</li></ul>Technical Skills<ul><li>Strong hands‑on experience with Drupal 8/9/10 (site-building + back‑end development).</li><li>Proficiency in PHP, including OOP and Composer.</li><li>Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Twig templates.</li><li>Experience developing custom Drupal modules.</li><li>Good understanding of database design, SQL, and Drupal’s entity schema.</li><li>Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps workflows.</li><li>Familiarity with Acquia, Pantheon, or other enterprise hosting platforms.</li><li>Understanding of security hardening, performance tuning, and caching.</li></ul>Soft Skills<ul><li>Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical topics clearly.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum teams.</li><li>Strong problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.</li></ul>Desirable Experience / Competences<ul><li>Minimum 3 Years of professional web application development </li><li>Recent experience with React functional components (experience with other frameworks may be considered) </li><li>Experience writing integration and unit tests for user interfaces is required </li><li>Experience designing and building systems using a contract-first methodology is preferred </li><li>Must feel comfortable creating wireframes in Figma (or similar tools) </li><li>Experience with Isomorphic frameworks, such as NextJS is preferred </li><li>Experience with mono-repo tooling, such as NX or yarn workspaces, is preferred </li><li>Experience working in agile environments and a strong agile mindset. </li><li>Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure without being distracted by complexity. </li><li>Experience working closely with stakeholders to create user interfaces that solve business problems </li><li>Knowledge of AWS software solutions is beneficial. </li></ul>General Skills<ul><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbally </li></ul><ul><li>Strong Typescript/JavaScript proficiency </li></ul><ul><li>Moderate CSS proficiency </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of UX and UI accessibility principles </li></ul><ul><li>Comfortable with Wireframing tools, such as Figma </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in using Git for version control and JIRA for backlog management. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to use own initiative, with strong personal organisation skills.  </li><li>Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required. </li><li>Personable and engaging. </li><li>Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible. </li><li>Demonstrates strong customer focus. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others. </li><li>Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution. </li><li>Ability to work with diverse groups/ personalities. </li><li>Open to innovative ideas/ experiences and ability to create new ideas, approaches or insights. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail, highly organised with a proactive approach.</li><li>Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills.</li></ul>#LI-Hybrid #LI-MIDNot The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
