The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to build rapport with key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Preparation of Journal Entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Coordinate posting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.</li><li>Ensure transactions adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures.</li><li>Support preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting statements.</li><li>Compile and upload KPIs in accordance with close deadlines.</li><li>Lead and support delivery of assigned projects.</li><li>Assist with ad hoc tasks as assigned.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies<ul><li>2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Candidates working towards a CPA designation are preferred but not required.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Able to work within tight close deadlines and excel in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.</li><li>Superior communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>Must possess a desire to effect change and make a difference in the organization.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems (Cognos/TM1) and accounting systems (Workday) is an asset.</li><li>Advanced MS Excel skills and working knowledge of Google Workspace.</li><li>A background in the waste industry would be an asset.</li></ul>GFL Environmental is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
