In such capacity, this person will lead the environmental, health, and safety programs at our Broomfield, Colorado manufacturing facility. This individual will play a critical role in assisting with developing safety systems from the ground up, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture in a heavy industrial environment.   Responsibilities include:Safety Program Development &amp; Compliance <ul><li>Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures tailored to a chemical and heavy industrial environment</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations</li><li>Ability to serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors</li><li>Lead risk assessments, HAZOPs, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for plant operations </li><li>Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions </li><li>Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals</li><li>Develop and enforce protocols for working around large iron components, heavy machinery, and mobile equipment</li><li>Implement and maintain emergency response plans, spill control, and fire protection systems </li><li>Travel as needed to obtain or maintain personal training/certifications and benchmark internally and externally. Estimated to be approximately 2 weeks per year</li></ul> Training &amp; Culture Building <ul><li>Design and deliver safety training programs for operators, technicians, and leadership</li><li>Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, audits, and continuous improvement</li><li>Serve as a visible safety leader on the plant floor, modeling best practices and engaging with frontline teams </li></ul> Monitoring &amp; Reporting <ul><li>Track and report EHS performance metrics, incidents, and corrective actions </li><li>Conduct regular inspections, audits, and investigations to identify and mitigate risks </li><li>Monitor and close out action items stemming from incident investigations, hazard analyses, and/or audits</li></ul>What we need you to bring to the team:    <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field</li><li>8+ years of progressive EHS experience in mining, manufacturing, chemical, or similar industrial environments (excluding internships, co-ops, and other school projects)</li><li>Proven experience developing, implementing, and leading safety programs within complex industrial or manufacturing settings</li><li>Advanced knowledge of hazardous materials handling, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance requirements</li><li>Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, develop innovative solutions, and implement effective policies, procedures, and programs</li><li>Strong understanding of cross-functional interdependencies and the ability to influence outcomes across disciplines</li><li>Exercises sound judgment in selecting and adapting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve business objectives</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders on complex matters</li><li>Experience mentoring junior team members and leading projects or initiatives without direct people management responsibility</li><li>Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, managing complex assignments aligned with departmental and organizational goals</li></ul> <div><div>What we want you to bring to the team:   <ul><li>Strong background in hazardous energy isolation, electrical safety, and chemical safety best practices</li><li>Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM)</li><li>40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification </li><li>Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management)  </li><li>Experience collaborating on Industrial Hygiene testing and results analysis   </li><li>Experience with construction safety management </li><li>Experience with environmental permitting</li><li>Familiarity with startup or scale-up environments</li></ul>  Must be willing and able to perform safety sensitive job functions including but not limited to:  <ul><li>Operating industrial powered vehicles. </li><li>Operating material handling cranes and hoists. </li><li>Operating aerial work platforms. </li><li>Working at heights, including use of all required personal fall arrest equipment. </li><li>Execution Hazardous Energy Isolation procedures </li><li>Perform work inside of confined spaces </li><li>Perform work while wearing a respirator </li></ul>Must be willing and able to submit to medical evaluations and be deemed by a healthcare professional to perform safety sensitive job functions. Employment is contingent upon (1) acceptable medical evaluation confirming ability to perform safety sensitive job functions; and (2) pre-employment post-offer drug screen.     Compensation:   <ul><li>The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $128,000-$140,000 a year and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  </li></ul>Benefits For You:  <ul><li>100% paid premiums across all medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, short-term disability, long-term disability, and basic life insurance plans</li><li>$1,800 in annual employer HSA contributions (health savings account) </li></ul>Benefits For Your Family:  <ul><li>100% paid premiums across all medical, dental, vision, and telemedicine plans </li><li>12 weeks of paid parental leave </li></ul>Benefits For Your Future:  <ul><li>401k with up to 5% matching contributions which vest 100% on day one  </li><li>Eligibility for incentive stock options </li></ul>If you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, reach out to us at <a href="mailto:careers@electra.earth">careers@electra.earth</a> We’re here to help.</div></div>
