This contract role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and component replacement to ensure equipment reliability and safe, continuous operations. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with heavy industrial mechanical systems and the ability to work independently in a startup and commissioning environment with evolving processes Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, installation, replacement, and repair activities on fixed plant mechanical equipment and associated systems </li><li>Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform removal, repair, and installation of components including vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression and dust collection systems, pumps, pit dewatering systems, piping systems, and hydraulic systems </li><li>Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, and other mechanical systems </li><li>Perform mechanical and lubrication preventive maintenance activities, including changing filters on dust collection systems, inspecting screens, seals, gaskets, and expansion joints for wear or leakage, and maintaining lubrication systems </li><li>Perform removal, repair, and installation of piping and pump components including valves, expansion joints, and check valves </li><li>Assist in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment </li><li>Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, piping diagrams, and equipment manuals </li><li>Perform root cause analysis on mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime </li><li>Prioritize work and make sound decisions regarding equipment repair, outage response, and maintenance execution </li><li>Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and perform routine work area inspections </li><li>Support spare parts inventory management and recommend replacement parts as needed </li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, reliability programs, and preventive maintenance planning </li><li>Perform advanced welding and fabrication work as required </li><li>Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks (where qualified) </li><li>Train, mentor, and support development of other mechanical employees </li><li>Serve as Fill-In Supervisor when required, coordinating work execution and safety </li><li>Assist Operations with equipment operation as needed </li><li>Perform additional duties as required to support business and operational needs </li><li>Work shifts including days, swing shifts, nights, weekends, and overnight coverage in a 24/7/365 operation </li></ul>What we need you to bring to the team:   <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>8+ years of experience performing mechanical maintenance within industrial, manufacturing, mining, or processing environments </li><li>Strong experience with rotating equipment, conveying systems, pumps, piping, and hydraulic systems </li><li>Strong understanding of mechanical systems, maintenance practices, and safe work execution </li><li>Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment </li><li>Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) </li><li>Knowledge of lean maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices </li><li>Preferred experience in chemical, metallurgical, battery materials, hydrometallurgy, or critical mineral processing environments </li><li>Familiarity working around strong chemicals or oxidizing solutions (e.g., low-pH or acidic environments) </li><li>Ability to work safely in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment </li><li>Excellent situational awareness, judgment, and decision-making under pressure </li><li>Effective communication and teamwork skills </li><li>Adaptability to a startup and commissioning environment without established</li><li>No formal occupational license required </li></ul> <div><div>What we want you to bring to the team: <ul><li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification</li><li>Technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field</li><li>Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, and rigging certification</li><li>Exposure to predictive maintenance technologies, such as vibration analysis and thermography </li></ul>   Must be willing and able to perform safety sensitive job functions including but not limited to:  <ul><li>Operating industrial powered vehicles. </li><li>Operating material handling cranes and hoists. </li><li>Operating aerial work platforms. </li><li>Working at heights, including use of all required personal fall arrest equipment. </li><li>Execution Hazardous Energy Isolation procedures </li><li>Perform work inside of confined spaces </li><li>Perform work while wearing a respirator </li></ul>Must be willing and able to submit to medical evaluations and be deemed by a healthcare professional to perform safety sensitive job functions. Employment is contingent upon (1) acceptable medical evaluation confirming ability to perform safety sensitive job functions;
