With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our Quality Assurance team. As part of this team, you will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of composite materials and parts for a VTOL electric aircraft. The inspection process will help baseline the company’s hardware design efforts and pave the way to production-ready hardware. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like-minded individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.   <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Participate in the development of the quality inspection system</li> <li>Perform incoming inspection on supplied composite material</li> <li>Perform in-process inspection during the layup process for composite material</li> <li>Perform final inspection on completed composite parts</li> <li>Perform final inspection on the completed Work Order paperwork package</li> <li>Perform ad hoc part and process inspections</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required</li> <li>Basic understanding of quality concepts (training can be provided)</li> <li>Willingness to learn measurement techniques and tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)</li> <li>Ability to follow instructions and learn how to read simple drawings or work instructions</li> <li>Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and simple measurements)</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn quality standards</li> <li>Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate records</li> <li>Willingness to learn basic inspection and testing methods</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment</li> <li>Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning new skills</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>1+ years of on-the-job aerospace experience</li> <li>General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&amp;T), and understanding of the x, y, z coordinate system</li> <li>Basic knowledge of statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data, and how to recognize out-of-control conditions</li> <li>Basic knowledge of plan-do-check-act (PDCA)</li> <li>ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certificate</li></ul> <h2>Additional Information</h2><p><strong>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $24-$30 per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
