Solar One seeks an Environmental Educator to deliver quality environmental STEM and climate action education in NYC. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of STEM Education, the Environmental Educator will teach Solar One’s climate action and green career readiness programs with K-12 students across all five boroughs and occasionally throughout NY State. Programs may be taught in English or occasionally in Spanish or another language. There is the potential for occasional travel around New York State. Computer-based work can be done at home, at our Solar One Environmental Education Center, or at our office space in Long Island City, Queens. Main job responsibilities: <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Teaching Solar One’s curriculum focused on climate action and solar hard skills. </li> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Teaching is often at schools, at our Education Center at Stuyvesant Cove Park, and </li> </ul> potentially virtual. This includes </li> </ul> program planning, materials coordination, and scheduling. <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Participate in professional networks to promote Green Design Lab programming as well </li> </ul> as establish partnerships with potential stakeholders <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Assist the Director of STEM Education with administrative tasks such as recording, </li> </ul> tracking, and reporting activities delivered to schools and teachers. <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Utilizing program evaluation feedback from students, teachers, and the school </li> </ul> Administrators to update curriculum alongside the education team. <ul style='\"margin-top:' margin-bottom:> <li style='\"font-size:' font-family: new roman serif> Facilitate school STEM programming and camp during the summer between July to Mid </li> </ul> August.
