<p>We are seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our Test &amp; Commissioning team. Working alongside our Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for hands-on commissioning and testing of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring each unit meets performance and safety requirements before deployment.</p><p>This is a practical, execution-focused role that bridges software and electrical disciplines. You will run commissioning test scripts, verify electrical installations, collect and interpret test data, and make pass/fail judgements. While you won't be writing software, you need to be comfortable working with software systems, interpreting their outputs, and understanding how they interact with the hardware.</p><p>The ideal candidate combines electrical competence with software literacy and a methodical, detail-oriented approach. You'll work both in our workshop and at customer sites, ensuring our systems are commissioned safely and perform as designed.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Software Commissioning &amp; Testing</p><ul><li>Execute commissioning test scripts and software validation procedures</li><li>Configure and verify control system parameters, communication settings, and alarm thresholds</li><li>Perform system integration checks between BMS, EMS, inverters, and monitoring platforms</li><li>Verify data logging, remote connectivity, and cloud platform integration</li><li>Support firmware updates and software configuration changes during commissioning</li></ul><p>Electrical Verification</p><ul><li>Perform pre-commissioning electrical checks including breaker operation, CT clamp installation, and wiring verification</li><li>Verify correct installation of protection devices, isolation points, and safety systems</li><li>Conduct insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and earth fault loop impedance tests</li><li>Support energisation procedures and system power-up sequences</li><li>Ensure test equipment is correctly configured and calibrated for accurate data collection</li></ul><p>Data Interpretation &amp; Reporting</p><ul><li>Collect, review, and interpret commissioning test data to determine pass/fail outcomes</li><li>Identify anomalies, discrepancies, and issues requiring escalation to engineering</li><li>Complete commissioning checklists, test reports, and handover documentation</li><li>Maintain accurate records of test results, configuration settings, and as-commissioned states</li><li>Provide feedback to improve test procedures and commissioning processes</li></ul><p>Site &amp; Workshop Activities</p><ul><li>Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) on systems prior to dispatch</li><li>Travel to customer sites to perform site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning</li><li>Follow health and safety procedures, including safe isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols</li><li>Coordinate with installation contractors and site personnel during commissioning activities</li></ul>
