Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.</p><h2>Who we are looking for</h2><p>Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled R&amp;D Composites Molding Engineer to lead research and development of advanced thermoplastic molding processes, tooling technologies, and prototype equipment for our manufacturing operations. This hands-on role emphasizes developing new molding processes, designing prototype tooling, and testing emerging technologies while working directly with molds, molding equipment, and R&amp;D teams. You will independently manage multiple R&amp;D projects from concept through prototype validation, supporting Re:Build's diverse manufacturing capabilities across multiple sites. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a hands-on approach to solving complex R&amp;D challenges and advancing manufacturing capabilities.</p><h2>What you will get to do!</h2><ul><li>Develop and advance thermoplastic molding processes for R&amp;D applications</li><li>Design prototype tooling and molds using SolidWorks</li><li>Research and evaluate new tooling technologies and molding methods</li><li>Provide hands-on support during prototype builds, troubleshooting molds and molding equipment</li><li>Lead new process development and qualification activities</li><li>Manage multiple concurrent R&amp;D composites projects independently</li><li>Test and validate prototype tooling and process parameters</li><li>Collaborate with engineering and technical staff across Re:Build sites</li><li>Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for materials, tooling, and services</li><li>Document R&amp;D processes, test results, specifications, and best practices</li></ul><h2>What you bring to the team</h2><ul><li><strong>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related engineering discipline</strong></li><li><strong>5+ years of thermoplastic processing experience</strong> (thermoforming, injection molding, compression molding, or thermoplastic composites)</li><li><strong>Proficiency in SolidWorks</strong> for 3D modeling and tooling design</li><li><strong>Hands-on experience working with molds and molding equipment</strong></li><li>Strong understanding of thermoplastic materials and processing parameters</li><li>Process development and prototyping experience</li><li>Tooling design and modification experience</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues</li><li>Experience managing multiple projects independently</li><li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills</li></ul><h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>10+ years of thermoplastic processing experience</li><li>Experience with multiple thermoplastic processes (thermoforming, injection molding, compression molding, thermoplastic composites)</li><li>Prototype mold design experience</li><li>Material science or polymer engineering background</li><li>Experience in R&amp;D or advanced manufacturing environments</li><li>FEA or simulation analysis experience</li><li>Experience with emerging composites technologies</li></ul><h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2><ul><li>Primarily based at Re:Build's Denver facility</li><li>Mix of office/engineering environment and hands-on R&amp;D lab/shop floor work</li><li>Active participation during prototype builds and testing</li><li>Occasional travel to other Re:Build sites or suppliers</li><li>Standard day shift, Monday through Friday</li></ul><h2>Additional Details</h2><p>Work Week is onsite - Monday - Friday</p><p>The base salary range for this position is $92,000– $137,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
