We work for leading United Kingdom &amp; Ireland (UK&amp;I) and international clients and have a wide range of commissions across all sectors, some typical examples of current and past projects include National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade where our teams are supporting the overhaul of electricity distribution infrastructure across England and Wales;  H2Teesside which aims to be the largest blue hydrogen production facility in the UK; High Speed Rail; Network Rail’s Control Point 7 programme of works to operate, maintain and renew the mainline rail infrastructure; and overseas work including work for the Royal Commission of Al Ula and Neom. Our Ground Engineering Practice covers all aspects of Ground Engineering serving a wide range of end markets. Here’s what we’re interested inWe require ambitious team players with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge, and experience to take on day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. This will include<ul><li>Applying geotechnical design, working with a high degree of independence and supporting junior team members.</li><li>Leading the geotechnical input to projects from desk study/feasibility through to ground investigation and interpretation to final design, including preparation of specifications, ground investigation reports, construction drawings and geotechnical design reports.</li><li>Overseeing projects ensuring adherence to programme and budget. </li></ul>Come grow with us. Here’s what we’ll be looking for<ul><li>BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc and/or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.</li><li>Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) status is preferred or on track to achieve this within the next year. The team will provide the necessary support to achieve this.</li><li>Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.</li><li>Demonstrable understanding of current design codes, standards, and best practices in geotechnical design, but also open to exploring new methods and innovations.</li><li>Ability to collaborate closely in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.</li><li>Knowledge of typical ground conditions interpretation/parametric assessment and correlation methods applicable to common geotechnical design problems.</li><li>Familiarity with data management software (e.g. Leapfrog, Open Ground) would be advantageous.</li><li>Well-rounded experience in geotechnical design (e.g. earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) with strong analytical skills and confidence in the use of relevant design software (e.g. Bentley Slope/W, Rocscience Settle 3D, Oasys ALP, OASYS FREW or Geosolve Wallap).</li><li>Familiarity with the production of geotechnical analysis and design packages, including drawings, risk assessments, specifications and design reports.</li><li>Application of CDM Regulations / Safety in Design in a design and ground investigation environment.</li><li>Experience with standards and processes in specialised fields (e.g. highways, railways) is desirable.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents and make high quality confident presentations in-person or remotely using collaboration software.</li><li>Clean driving licence.</li><li>Candidates should be willing to travel throughout the UK.</li></ul> And let's not forget about the perks at AECOM. You'll enjoy a range of core and personalised benefits designed to support your future and well-being, customised to fit your lifestyle.
