<h5>The Role</h5>We’re looking for a skilled backend engineer to help build out our core services and infrastructure. You will work closely with our Lead Platform Engineer and Head of Engineering.‍<h5>You will be responsible for</h5><ol><li>Collaborating with Product, QA and other engineers to deliver features in a fast-paced agile environment</li><li>Integrating with our charging partners to ingest, process, and validate live data via the OCPI protocol.</li><li>Working closely with frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration between backend and frontend systems.</li><li>Creating and deploying resilient, asynchronous workflows across systems.</li><li>Iterating on our core charging tech to make EV driver experiences great.</li><li>Developing secure and performant APIs for our apps and third-parties.</li><li>Building out our cloud-based infrastructure using IaC and setting up reporting, monitoring, and auto-scaling.</li><li>Helping maintain a great developer experience for the team (and yourself)</li></ol>‍<h5>Experience</h5>Deep technical expertise in a specific area is welcome, but the ability to flex across areas and go outside your comfort zone is even more important.As a professional, you:<ul><li>Bring a platform and API-first mindset, including great technical writing and documentation</li><li>Care about code quality and following best practices in software engineering</li><li>Comfortably integrate with third-party teams and their systems</li><li>Are eager to take on new responsibilities, grow with the job and have a strong sense of pride in quality code and a quality product</li></ul>‍<h5>Requirements</h5><ul><li>4 or more years of experience in professional software development (preferably with Golang)</li><li>BS in Computer Science or related field</li><li>Ability to work closely with a small, distributed development team to meet time estimates and routinely deliver within agile development cycles</li><li>Proven ability to learn new topics and skills quickly and respond to changing priorities</li><li>Highly resourceful and effective, able to exercise independent judgment to quickly act or to know when to ask for help.</li><li>Experience with AWS or other major cloud provider (ideally including IaC, like Terraform)</li><li>Experience with Cloud-based CICD pipelines (Github actions, CodePipeline, etc.)</li><li>Experience with Event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka) and/or asynchronous workflows (e.g. SQS, Temporal, etc.)</li><li>Experience with APM systems like Datadog, New Relic, etc.</li><li>Experience with data ingestion, parsing, and validation</li><li>Experience with Relational DBs (PostgreSQL or MySQL)</li></ul>‍<h5>Bonus points for</h5><ul><li>Experience working with payment platforms (Stripe, Adyen, etc)</li><li>Experience working at a startup</li><li>Experience with machine learning</li><li>Experience with OCPI / OCPP</li></ul>‍<h5>Our values</h5>You should align with our values:<ul><li>Builder: You create, you build.
