Ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, proactive in problem solving and able to wear many hats. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and scalability of electrode production while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.Core Responsibilities:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Lead production of electrodes, including all aspects of slurry mixing, coating and calendering for Coreshell’s 60Ah-scale batteries</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Work hands-on on all processes while managing a team of technicians and engineers</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Plan and execute electrode production on a daily basis</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Improve production yield, throughput, cost efficiency and cell performance</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Coordinate maintenance and improvement of all equipment used in electrode fabrication</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training documents</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Maintain process and quality documentation systems and report on quality and productivity to drive continuous improvement</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Transfer new electrode formulations and processes from small scale to production. Validate scalability while ensuring compliance with expected performance and identifying and finding solutions for scaling issues encountered</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Must be comfortable performing some manual tasks such as lifting weights no heavier than 25kg.</li></ul>Required Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">B.S. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or similarly relevant field</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">4+ years of experience in the battery industry</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Background in battery production or process development involving electrode fabrication (mixing, coating or calendering)</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Background in R&amp;D and/or process development of other aspects of lithium-ion batteries is a plus</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Experience with operating and maintaining complex machinery</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Familiarity with chemistry lab safety protocols. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe, tidy, and organized work areas</li></ul> Location &amp; Benefits: San Leandro, CA. Full-time.
