Are you ready to change the world with us?</div>ABOUT THE ROLEThe Financial Applications Engineer designs, develops, and configures scalable solutions within core financial systems to support accounting, finance, and operational workflows. You will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and IT to translate complex business requirements into well‑engineered system configurations, automations, integrations, and data structures. The position requires a balance of financial acumen and technical depth, with a strong focus on solution design, system integrity, and long‑term maintainability.WHAT YOU'LL DO<ul><li>Partner with Accounting, FP&amp;A, AP/AR, and operational stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements, ensuring functional needs are clearly translated into system‑ready designs and configurations.</li><li>Design and develop financial application solutions that include workflows, validations, approval logic, roles, permissions, and business rules, with a focus on scalability, accuracy, and alignment with accounting principles.</li><li>Perform hands‑on configuration and development within financial systems, including building custom fields, forms, calculations, and automation that reduce manual effort and improve data consistency.</li><li>Analyze existing finance processes and system usage to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, or opportunities for automation, and engineer solutions that improve processing speed, accuracy, and auditability.</li><li>Design, implement, and maintain integrations between financial systems and upstream/downstream applications such as HRIS, supply chain, project management, banking, and data platforms, ensuring reliable data flow and reconciliation.</li><li>Define and support data models, mappings, and transformation logic across systems, proactively troubleshooting root causes of data discrepancies and implementing sustainable fixes.</li><li>Develop and execute testing strategies, including unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing, to validate that solutions meet both functional requirements and accounting outcomes prior to deployment.</li><li>Support system upgrades, enhancements, and new feature releases by evaluating impact, modifying configurations as needed, and coordinating testing and deployment across sandbox, testing, and production environments.</li><li>Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for complex financial system issues, performing root‑cause analysis, resolving defects, and driving corrective actions rather than short‑term workarounds.</li><li>Ensure all system designs and changes align with internal controls, segregation of duties, audit requirements, and change management standards, while producing clear technical and functional documentation to support audits and ongoing system knowledge.</li><li>Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.</li><li>Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.</li><li>Demonstrates the Clēnera Core Values of Caring, Committed, and Courageous.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, related, or equivalent years of experience.</li><li>Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in application development roles supporting finance or accounting systems.</li><li>Technology:<ul><li>Proficiency with SuiteScript and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.</li></ul></li><li>Skills/Attributes:<ul><li>Demonstrated experience translating accounting and finance requirements into system designs, configurations, and technical solutions.</li><li>Hands‑on experience configuring, developing, or extending ERP or financial applications beyond basic administration or user support.</li><li>Solid working knowledge of core accounting processes, including General Ledger, AP/AR, billing or revenue recognition, and fixed assets.</li><li>Experience supporting system integrations, data flows, reporting structures, or cross‑platform financial data reconciliation.</li><li>Strong experience producing clear functional specifications, technical documentation, and test plans.</li><li>Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul></li></ul>BENEFITS<ul><li>Clēnera pays 100% of employee and dependent premiums for a suite of medical, dental, and vision coverages.</li><li>Hybrid Work Environment</li><li>HSA and FSA Plans Available</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Retirement Plan with Employer Match</li><li>Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary, and AD&amp;D</li><li>Paid Time Off (Vacation and Public Holidays)</li><li>Incentive Pay and RSU Plans</li></ul>*Recruiting agencies, we are not currently accepting unsolicited referrals for this or any open role.
