Under the general direction of the Operations Manager or their designate, the Lab Technician is responsible for the laboratory aspects of day-to-day operations at a water treatment and used oil processing facility.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and clean glassware required for sample analysis.</li><li>Perform daily water treatment analysis and reports (COD, BOD, Chloride, TKN, PH, Phosphate, Suspended Solids, Sulfate etc.)</li><li>Perform analysis on oil process (BS&amp;W, metals, etc).</li><li>Perform routine calibration, sample preparation, and analyses using AA, GC, and other instrumentation.</li><li>Troubleshoot issues with laboratory instrumentation.</li><li>Report analytical results and coordinate effectively with operations personnel.</li><li>Maintain accurate records for analysis, maintenance, and production.</li><li>Complete documentation for provincial and federal regulations governing incoming waste.</li><li>Monitor laboratory supplies and coordinate re-supply requests with purchasing personnel.</li><li>Troubleshoot problems and assist with special research, projects or additional duties as assigned.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Key Competencies<ul><li>Education: Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma, Chemistry degree, or related field.</li><li>Experience: Previous laboratory experience is considered an asset.</li><li>Technical Skills: Competent computer skills.</li><li>Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Work Style: Motivated, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a team with minimal supervision.</li></ul>#GFLTalent  We thank you for your interest.
