The role is critical in driving efficient costs decisions and maintaining a sustainable supply chain.  The Senior Buyer has a significant responsibility in fulfilling customer commitments and managing an annual purchasing spend of more than $50 million USD.Essential Functions/Key Deliverables <ul><li>Partners with Planning and Production to develop procurement strategies and define ordering requirements on time horizons ranging from one week to 3 years.</li><li>Track and ensure inventory levels meet the business needs.  This includes developing and managing reports and KPIs for usage, on-hand inventories, excess/obsolete inventories.</li><li>Actively gathers market intelligence to find new suppliers, new product substitutions, capacity changes, and regulatory changes.</li><li>Makes tactical buying decisions. Execute on corporate sourcing programs and ensure compliance with all purchasing protocols.</li><li>Communicate with suppliers to obtain product and service information including price, availability, and delivery.</li><li>Gather quotations, examine bids, review contracts, negotiate pricing &amp; contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority, and make recommendations for awards.</li><li>Accurately enter all requisitions / purchase orders in the system on time, submit accurate orders to suppliers, and obtain written acknowledgements from suppliers.</li><li>Work with all necessary departments to ensure spending budgets are achieved while maintaining necessary stock to deliver on our KPIs</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains procurement records on services and goods purchased, costs, delivery, and inventories. <ul><li>Champion procurement reporting and metrics.</li><li>Issues quarterly reports on category spend, price per unit, contract compliance.</li><li>Monitor vendor performance for quality and delivery</li></ul></li><li>Assists in facilitating internal compliance and audit reporting.</li><li>Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role. </li></ul>Knowledge/Skills/Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree and/or significant experience in a related field.  </li><li>5+ years of experience in a Procurement or Finance role ideally in the manufacturing industry.</li><li>Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization</li><li>Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization</li><li>Experience managing multiple vendors and assignments in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially use of Excel for writing formulas, and pivot tables. – SAP experience helpful.</li></ul>Physical Demands N (Not Applicable) Activity is not applicable to this position.
