You will design, develop, and maintain API-driven data ingestion workflows that support Application Engineers and Optimization Engineers, enabling high-quality, customer-facing insights. This role combines hands-on engineering with cross-functional collaboration in an IoT and network-driven environment.<div></div><h2>Core Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Design and implement scalable data pipelines that ingest data from RESTful APIs, streaming sources, and third-party platforms.</li><li>Develop and maintain workflows using Python, Microsoft Fabric, and/or Power Platform to process structured and unstructured data.</li><li>Collaborate with Application Engineers and Network Optimization Engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality datasets for customer-facing reporting.</li><li>Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.</li><li>Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all pipelines and integrations.</li><li>Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data workflows, API integrations, and system performance.</li><li>Document data processes, schemas, and integration logic for internal stakeholders.</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>3+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.</li><li>Experience working with API integrations, including RESTful services and webhooks.</li><li>Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.</li><li>Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Superset, or similar).</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) or RF network environments.</li><li>Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.</li><li>Experience working with streaming data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs, Pub/Sub).</li><li>Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).</li><li>Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Podman).</li><li>Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.</li><li>Familiarity with ITIL practices and frameworks.</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><ul><li>Work Environment: Hybrid or office-based environment supporting collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders.</li><li>Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required based on team or project needs.</li></ul></div>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
