The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong business judgment, and a hands-on approach to building efficient, well-controlled teams and systems.</p><br><br><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><div><p><strong>Accounting Leadership and Compliance</strong></p><li>Lead all corporate accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, revenue recognition, and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.</li><li>Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, audit requirements, tax regulations, and internal accounting policies.</li><li>Own the preparation of financial statements, consolidations, and management reports.</li><li>Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance.</li><li>Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.</li><li>Manage a team of accounting specialists, including A/P, A/R, operating accounting, and SEC reporting.</li><li>Draft presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.</li><p><strong>Operational Finance and Process Management</strong></p><li>Oversee the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and efficient approval workflows.</li><li>Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve procurement, vendor onboarding, and alignment between contracts and financial controls.</li><li> Improve inventory management practices, including valuation, cycle counts, reconciliations, reserve analyses, and aging reviews.</li><li>Establish reporting and controls across fulfillment, cost of goods sold, landed cost, and other supply chain-related financial activities.</li><li>Identify bottlenecks and drive automation across purchasing, receiving, inventory, and other finance-adjacent workflows.</li><p><strong> </strong><strong>Financial Strategy and Business Partnership</strong></p><li>Partner with FP&amp;A to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.</li><li>Provide variance analysis, financial insights, and operating metrics to support executive decision-making.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency across procurement, supply chain, and corporate functions.</li><li>Support strategic planning, scenario modeling, and long-range financial initiatives in partnership with the CFO.</li><p><strong> </strong><strong>Systems and Team Leadership</strong></p><li>Lead the modernization and optimization of financial systems, including ERP platforms, inventory modules, procurement tools, and workflow automation. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement to shorten close timelines, improve data quality, and strengthen process discipline.</li><li>Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting and operational finance team.</li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.</li><li>Develop talent pipelines and succession plans within Finance.</li></div></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><div><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential required.</li><li>10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of corporate accounting teams.</li><li>Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit environments.</li><li>Hands-on ERP experience and a track record of process improvement.</li><li>Ability to lead teams through growth, change, and system implementations.</li><li>Strong analytical, communication, and executive-level presentation skills.</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading close processes and supporting external audits.</li><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><li>MBA or other advanced business degree.</li><li>Experience with procurement, inventory, supply chain, and fulfillment workflows.</li><li>Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.</li><li>Experience in a public company or pre-IPO environment.</li><p><strong>What Success Looks Like</strong></p><li>Timely and accurate close and reporting processes.</li><li>Strong internal controls and scalable accounting processes.</li><li>Clean audit outcomes with minimal adjustments and clear process ownership.</li></div></ul><br><div><div><strong>About the Company:</strong></div><div> </div><div>Velo, Velo3D, Sapphire and Intelligent Fusion are registered trademarks of Velo3D, Inc.
